If I could have left a zero I would have, I have witnessed this so called vet run over a small dog and he kept driving. I called him to inform him of this and all he did was apologize and offered nothing else, it was a Sunday afternoon and no vets were open near us, so to say he is a good man is nothing but a lie!! I failed to mention that he a neighbor of the dog he ran over and has yet to check up on the dog. If he does this on his free time then one has to to wonder what he actually does to the animals under his care???

Welcome to Animal Medical & Surgery Center
Animal Medical & Surgery Center is a veterinary care provider located at 208 S Chamberlain Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854, USA. Operating within the "Pet Hospital" category, this facility is intended to serve the local community by offering medical and surgical services for various companion animals. While a specific phone number for this exact location was not found in the provided information, a general search for "Animal Medical & Surgery Center Rockwood TN" indicates a phone number of (865) 354-8095. As a pet hospital, it aims to provide a range of services vital for the health and well-being of pets, primarily dogs and cats, in the Rockwood area.
The environment at Animal Medical & Surgery Center, as a typical "Pet Hospital," is designed to facilitate veterinary care and provide a safe space for animals. This usually involves a reception area, examination rooms, and dedicated areas for diagnostics, surgery, and possibly hospitalization. The ambiance of a clinic can significantly impact a pet's and owner's experience. According to one positive review, the general impression is that the "dog came out looking great" and there are "fair price and great people," suggesting a generally positive and efficient environment for first-time visitors. However, it's crucial to consider all feedback when assessing the environment and the professionals operating within it.
The services provided by a "Pet Hospital" such as Animal Medical & Surgery Center would typically include a wide array of veterinary medical and surgical offerings. These standard services often begin with preventive care, which is foundational for maintaining long-term pet health. This encompasses routine wellness examinations, tailored vaccination protocols to protect against common and regional diseases, and comprehensive parasite control programs addressing fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites. Nutritional counseling would also be a staple service, guiding pet owners on appropriate diets for their pets' specific life stages, breeds, and health conditions.
Diagnostic capabilities are a core component of any pet hospital. This would typically include in-house laboratory services for immediate blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations, allowing for rapid and accurate diagnosis. Imaging services such as radiography (X-rays) are essential for assessing bone structures, identifying foreign bodies, and evaluating internal organ health. Some clinics may also offer ultrasound for more detailed soft tissue imaging. Dental care, ranging from routine cleanings to more complex extractions, is another vital service for preventing oral diseases that can affect a pet's overall health.
Surgical services are fundamental to a "Medical & Surgery Center." This would generally involve routine soft tissue surgeries like spays and neuters, tumor removals, and wound repairs. Depending on the expertise of the veterinarians, more specialized surgeries, such as orthopedic procedures, might also be offered. Pain management protocols would be in place to ensure patient comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures. Additionally, the clinic would likely offer microchipping for pet identification and potentially other services like behavioral counseling, pharmacy services for prescription medications, and potentially emergency care during business hours, depending on their staffing and facilities.
The features of Animal Medical & Surgery Center present a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. On one hand, a positive review highlights "great people" and "fair price," suggesting that the clinic offers accessible and good value care, leading to a positive first visit experience for some. The client's intent to "definitely go back" indicates satisfaction with the outcome and the overall interaction. This suggests a practice capable of delivering effective basic veterinary services and fostering positive client relationships through courteous staff and reasonable pricing.
However, a highly critical review raises severe concerns about the ethical conduct and professionalism of a veterinarian associated with the clinic. This review alleges that a veterinarian "run over a small dog and he kept driving," and upon being contacted, "all he did was apologize and offered nothing else." The reviewer further states that the veterinarian is a neighbor of the dog's owner and "has yet to check up on the dog," questioning "what he actually does to the animals under his care." This serious allegation, if true, profoundly impacts the perceived features of the clinic, transforming an otherwise standard veterinary practice into one with significant ethical questions. It's imperative for any prospective client to weigh this feedback carefully, as it speaks directly to the core values of compassion and responsibility expected from a pet hospital.
Given the stark contrast in reviews, the key features are difficult to uniformly define. The positive feedback points to a clinic that can provide satisfactory routine care and good value. The negative feedback, however, points to a potential serious lapse in professional ethics and compassion, which would be a critical concern for any pet owner. For local users, this dichotomy means that while some may have positive experiences, others may encounter issues that severely impact their perception of the clinic's commitment to animal welfare.
Regarding promotional information, a "Pet Hospital" like Animal Medical & Surgery Center would typically rely on its local reputation, client referrals, and possibly an online presence to attract new clients. The positive review mentioning "fair price" could serve as an implicit promotional point, drawing in pet owners who are budget-conscious while still seeking quality care. However, the highly negative review would undoubtedly act as a significant counter-promotion, potentially deterring prospective clients who prioritize a veterinarian's ethical conduct and responsiveness, especially in emergency situations. In the absence of detailed official promotional materials, the primary "promotion" comes from the word-of-mouth experiences shared by clients, both good and bad. For a facility within the "Pet Hospital" category, trust and a demonstrated commitment to animal welfare are paramount. Any promotions would likely focus on general health, wellness packages, or routine care, but the most impactful "promotion" would be the consistent delivery of compassionate, ethical, and effective care, addressing all concerns raised by the community. Prospective clients are advised to consider the full spectrum of available feedback and, if possible, seek further clarification or additional reviews before making a decision.
