Not good for serious cases. Unless it is obvious they need better medical care he will sell sell and sell until the illness passes or your pet dies. Good people and im sure good intentions but they failed me miserably. Lost a prime healthy dog over the lack of insight and overall attention given.

As a prominent establishment within the "Pet Hospital" category, Animal Medical Clinic: Bowlds Kevin DVM offers a range of services designed to promote the well-being of dogs and cats. While specific details on the clinic's internal environment are not extensively detailed, typical pet hospitals strive to create a welcoming and calm atmosphere for animals and their owners. This often includes clean, well-lit examination rooms, a comfortable waiting area, and spaces equipped for various medical procedures. The clinic's location on Lion Parkway suggests an easily accessible spot within Columbia, TN, providing convenience for local residents.

The services offered at Animal Medical Clinic: Bowlds Kevin DVM likely encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care. Common offerings at pet hospitals include:

  • Wellness and Preventive Care: This forms the cornerstone of pet health, including routine check-ups, vaccinations to protect against common diseases, parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworms), and nutritional counseling to maintain a healthy weight and diet tailored to your pet's specific needs.

  • Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses, clinics typically offer in-house laboratory services for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Advanced diagnostics may include digital radiography (X-rays) and ultrasound to visualize internal organs and identify abnormalities.

  • Dental Care: Oral health is crucial for a pet's overall well-being. Services often include professional dental cleanings under anesthesia, extractions of diseased teeth, and guidance on at-home dental hygiene.

  • Surgical Procedures: From routine spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries, a pet hospital is equipped to perform various surgical interventions. The availability of advanced surgical capabilities may vary, and for highly specialized procedures, referrals to larger veterinary surgical centers might be necessary, as indicated by a customer review for this clinic.

  • Emergency and Urgent Care: While not a 24/7 emergency clinic, Animal Medical Clinic: Bowlds Kevin DVM, like many general practices, can address urgent, non-life-threatening conditions during their operating hours. For severe emergencies, they may refer to specialized emergency veterinary hospitals.

  • Pharmacy Services: An in-house pharmacy allows for convenient dispensing of necessary medications, including antibiotics, pain relief, and chronic disease management drugs.

  • Microchipping: This essential service helps in the identification and safe return of lost pets.

The features of Animal Medical Clinic: Bowlds Kevin DVM, as gleaned from customer feedback, highlight a particular strength in their approach to patient care. One notable feature is Dr. Kevin Bowlds' professional integrity. A customer review specifically praises Dr. Bowlds for referring an emergency case requiring surgery to another clinic, acknowledging that his facility was not equipped for the extensive aftercare the dog would need. This demonstrates a commitment to ensuring pets receive the most appropriate care, even if it means directing clients elsewhere, which is a highly respected trait in the veterinary field. It suggests a focus on the best outcome for the animal rather than attempting to handle cases beyond the clinic's immediate capacity. Dr. Bowlds himself received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University in May 1996, indicating a solid educational foundation in veterinary medicine. He has been serving the community for many years, with the business incorporated in June 2006.

However, another review offers a contrasting perspective, suggesting that for "serious cases," the clinic might not always provide the necessary in-depth medical insight, leading to potential complications if the illness is not immediately obvious. This particular feedback implies that while the clinic may excel in general practice and basic care, complex or undiagnosed conditions might benefit from a specialist's attention or a facility with more advanced diagnostic capabilities. This nuanced view underscores the importance of pet owners openly communicating with their veterinarians about their concerns and, if needed, seeking second opinions or referrals for highly complex or persistent health issues.

Regarding promotional information, specific current promotions for Animal Medical Clinic: Bowlds Kevin DVM are not publicly detailed or readily available from the provided information. • Social Media Engagement: Announcing promotions, pet health tips, and community events through their social media channels.

  • Online Pharmacy Discounts: Offering special pricing or free shipping for medications and prescription diets purchased through their online pharmacy, if available.

Awesome place. Very happy to have my dogs cared for here. I had an emergency with my bernedoodle a few weeks ago, and Kevin referred me to another clinic for surgery, because he said he wasn't equipped for the after care my dog would need. I respect that tremendously.

Dr. Bowlds is by far the best vet I have taken my animals to. He discusses everything with you and answers all your questions. He is knowledgeable, patient and very kind to the pets as well as the pet owners.

I have 3 pit bulls that are my babies . I've been taking to a vet in Lewisburg sense birth . They started having what look like hot spots . $300.00 later on 1 dog ,no better . ONE trip to Kevin and all 3 of my dogs all incredibly so much better . 1 week later and the hair is thicker , not itching and we are all so much happier. Thank you Kevin and staff . And GOD BLESS ALL . Edie Jones Parks

My dog was extremely sick, I called and they told me to bring him immediately. I got there 20 mins later and the young lady at the desk told me that I didnt make it in time and refused to see my dog. She was extremely rude. Will definitely go somewhere else next time.
