Welcome to Animal Medical Center Somerset
Animal Medical Center Somerset, located at 1911 N Ctr Ave, Somerset, PA 15501, USA, operates as a highly regarded facility within the "Pet Hospital" category. Reachable at (814) 443-6979, this center is dedicated to providing comprehensive and high-quality veterinary care to the beloved pets of Somerset and its surrounding communities. As a Pet Hospital, Animal Medical Center Somerset positions itself as a complete medical resource for companion animals, offering a wide array of services designed to address every aspect of a pet's health, from routine wellness to complex medical conditions and emergency situations.
The environment at Animal Medical Center Somerset is consistently described by clients as welcoming, safe, and calming, even for pets with high anxiety. This suggests a thoughtfully designed space that prioritizes the comfort and well-being of its animal patients. The waiting area is likely arranged to minimize stress, perhaps with designated spaces for different species or quiet zones. Examination rooms are equipped to facilitate thorough and gentle check-ups. The overall atmosphere aims to put both pets and their owners at ease, creating a sense of trust and security. The positive client feedback regarding anxious pets doing well and feeling safe here highlights a successful effort by the staff to create a soothing and non-threatening environment, which is a significant achievement for a veterinary facility. This commitment to a positive experience extends beyond the physical space to the interactions with the veterinary team, fostering a sense of trust and reassurance for pet parents.
Animal Medical Center Somerset offers a comprehensive suite of services, characteristic of a full-service Pet Hospital. These services are designed to cover all stages of a pet's life, from puppy and kitten care to senior pet wellness. Fundamental to their offerings is preventative care, which includes routine wellness examinations, tailored vaccination protocols based on a pet's individual needs and lifestyle, and robust parasite prevention programs (for fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal parasites). This proactive approach aims to maintain optimal health and prevent the onset of serious diseases.
Beyond preventative care, the center provides advanced diagnostic capabilities. This typically includes an in-house laboratory for rapid blood work, urinalysis, and other essential tests, allowing for quick and accurate diagnoses. Digital radiology (X-rays) is also a standard offering, providing clear images for assessing skeletal issues, internal organ conditions, and the presence of foreign bodies. These diagnostic tools are crucial for effective treatment planning and managing acute conditions.
Surgical services are also a cornerstone of their practice, encompassing everything from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries and potentially orthopedic procedures. The hospital would likely employ modern anesthetic protocols and pain management strategies to ensure the safety and comfort of surgical patients. Dental care is another vital component, including professional cleanings, extractions, and other oral health treatments, recognizing the significant impact of dental hygiene on a pet's overall health. Furthermore, they would offer specialized treatments for various medical conditions, chronic disease management, and nutritional counseling.
A key feature of Animal Medical Center Somerset, as strongly emphasized by customer testimonials, is the exceptional quality of care and the high standards maintained by the staff. Clients consistently express "beyond happy" satisfaction and full trust in the staff with their pets. This indicates not only medical competence but also a profound level of compassion and dedication. The ability to make highly anxious pets feel safe and do well during visits is a remarkable testament to the gentle approach and skilled handling techniques employed by the veterinary team. This focus on the emotional well-being of the animal, alongside their physical health, sets a high benchmark for veterinary care.
Another distinguishing feature is the establishment of a strong, trusting relationship between the clinic and pet owners. The review highlighting the decision to "transfer our other pets to here" after a single positive experience with a new puppy, 'Opie,' speaks volumes about the immediate confidence and satisfaction clients feel. This suggests a practice that excels at building rapport and demonstrating genuine care, making new clients feel like part of the clinic's extended family. The consistency in positive experiences, as noted by the client who has "never had a bad experience," further reinforces the clinic's commitment to excellence across all interactions.
Promotional information for Animal Medical Center Somerset would naturally leverage these powerful testimonials and core features. Marketing efforts would highlight their "high standards" and the "quality" of care provided, emphasizing their reputation for excellence in the Somerset community. They would showcase their comprehensive range of services, reassuring pet owners that they can handle diverse medical needs. A significant focus would be placed on the compassionate and gentle approach, particularly for anxious pets, perhaps through imagery or narratives that convey a soothing and safe environment. Testimonials explicitly mentioning the trust clients place in the staff, and the positive experiences of pets like Versace, Vuitton, and Opie, would be central to their messaging. The clinic might also promote their advanced diagnostic capabilities and surgical expertise. Ultimately, their promotional strategy would aim to position Animal Medical Center Somerset as the most trusted and caring Pet Hospital in the region, where every pet is treated with the utmost respect, empathy, and medical proficiency, ensuring peace of mind for their human companions.

Apr 11, 2025 · Kittie ThurberThis was our first time using this vet. It was a very warming experience for our new pup. As a matter of fact we are going to transfer our other pets to here. Here are some photos of Opie.
Apr 01, 2025 · missy LohrOur pets are our family. This clinic, particularly Dr. Swanivic who has been taking care of my Abby dog since I moved to PA, are amazing. Caring, loving, genuinely concerned and compassionate.
May 06, 2025 · Pam BushThe vet and vet technician’s are amazing. The only bad thing about this place is the receptionist’s attitude. They always make me feel as if I’m bothering them. Not very often do you even see them smile. I understand that we all have bad days, and I’ve worked with the public my whole life so I understand that, however when my pets are sick or just there for their vaccinations, it makes me feel like they don’t care. First impressions are everything.
Apr 02, 2025 · Jessica TresslerI have trusted Dr Svonavec and his well trained staff to take care of my cats for many years. My questions and concerns are always addressed with their full attention with a lot of patience. I have total trust in his knowledge and his ability to do what's best in any situation, whether it's a routine check up or even more important the many serious health problems my many cats over many years have had.I also am grateful for the fact they keep me updated in a way I can understand. .
