Animal Medical Center Introduce
For pet owners in Danville, VA, seeking dedicated veterinary care, **Animal Medical Center** operates as a prominent "Pet Hospital," providing a variety of services for beloved animal companions. Located at 2815 Riverside Dr, Danville, VA 24540, USA, this facility aims to serve the local community's needs for animal health. You can contact them directly at (434) 793-6477 or via mobile at +1 434-793-6477 for appointments and inquiries.
The **environment** at Animal Medical Center presents a mixed picture based on customer feedback. On one hand, many clients experience a positive and friendly atmosphere, describing the staff as "very friendly," with "good customer service." The environment is often perceived as helpful and knowledgeable, with staff committed to keeping clients "well informed though the whole process." This suggests an effort to create a welcoming and transparent setting for routine visits and planned procedures. The commitment to follow-up, with calls made to check up on pets after procedures, also indicates a caring and attentive environment. However, a contrasting experience highlights significant concerns regarding emergency care and communication. The narrative of a service animal bleeding out and being turned away due to a perceived lack of shot records, despite the clinic presumably having them on file, points to potential issues with responsiveness and compassion during critical situations. While the facility likely maintains standard veterinary cleanliness and professional setup for routine care, the negative review suggests that under high-stress emergency scenarios, the environment and protocols might not consistently meet urgent needs or provide immediate empathetic support. A clean and organized facility is generally expected from a pet hospital, and the positive comments about customer service indicate that for non-emergency situations, the environment is generally conducive to good pet care.
The **services** offered by Animal Medical Center appear to cover a range of general veterinary care for common companion animals, particularly cats, as specifically mentioned in a positive review. As a "Pet Hospital," their typical services would include:
Routine Wellness and Preventative Care: This encompasses annual check-ups, vaccinations to protect against common diseases, parasite prevention and control, and general health assessments to maintain pets' well-being. Regular visits are crucial for early detection of health issues.
Diagnostic Services: While not explicitly detailed, a pet hospital would typically offer various diagnostic tools. These could include in-house laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams), and possibly imaging services like X-rays (radiography) to help diagnose illnesses and injuries. The ability to determine the cause of issues like a severe laceration would rely on such diagnostic capabilities.
Surgical Procedures: The positive review mentioning a cat being "spayed" indicates that Animal Medical Center performs routine surgeries, including sterilization procedures (spaying and neutering). Other common soft tissue surgeries would also likely be available.
Treatment for Illness and Injury: They provide medical care for pets suffering from various illnesses or injuries. While the negative review outlines a problematic experience with an emergency laceration, in general, a pet hospital handles common ailments, infections, and non-life-threatening injuries.
Post-Procedure Follow-up: A notable positive aspect mentioned in the reviews is their commitment to follow-up care, including calling clients at home to check on their pets after a procedure. This demonstrates a dedication to patient recovery and client peace of mind.
Medication and Pharmacy Services: As a veterinary clinic, they would have an in-house pharmacy to dispense necessary medications for treatment and ongoing care, including preventative medications.
Several key **features** define Animal Medical Center. One prominent feature is their **friendly staff and good customer service**, as consistently noted in positive reviews. This aspect creates a welcoming environment for many clients. Another strong feature is their **perceived affordability**, with a client stating, "The price is great for Service that they provide." This suggests that Animal Medical Center aims to offer cost-effective veterinary solutions, which is a significant draw for pet owners. The **knowledgeable and helpful nature of their team** is also a positive feature, with clients appreciating being "well informed though the whole process." Their **commitment to post-procedure follow-up calls** stands out as a compassionate and thorough aspect of their care, demonstrating genuine concern for patient recovery. However, a critical feature, or lack thereof, appears to be their **emergency care protocol and crisis management**. The negative review highlights a significant issue with their handling of a severe emergency, including a perceived lack of urgency, questionable record-keeping (or access to records), and an apparent lack of empathy during a critical situation. This suggests an inconsistency in their service delivery, particularly when faced with high-stakes emergencies. While some clients consistently experience excellent routine care, others might encounter challenges when immediate, life-saving intervention is required. This discrepancy in experiences forms a critical feature for potential clients to consider when assessing the clinic's suitability for all their pet's needs.
In terms of **promotional information**, Animal Medical Center likely relies heavily on its reputation for providing affordable and friendly routine care, as well as positive word-of-mouth. Their consistent positive reviews about staff friendliness, good customer service, and reasonable pricing serve as strong organic endorsements. While specific promotional campaigns or discounts are not detailed in the provided information, the recurring theme of "great price for Service" acts as a continuous promotional message. Their contact information (phone: (434) 793-6477, mobile: +1 434-793-6477, address: 2815 Riverside Dr, Danville, VA 24540, USA) is readily available for clients to schedule appointments. They would typically promote their services through their physical location, potentially local advertisements, and an online presence (website, social media) to detail their offerings and introduce their team. The fact that they perform follow-up calls after procedures is a valuable service that likely generates customer loyalty and positive reviews, acting as a form of long-term promotion. However, the severe negative review regarding emergency care could significantly impact their promotional efforts and reputation. Transparency about emergency protocols, and potentially improving their system for accessing patient records quickly, would be crucial for building trust and attracting clients who seek comprehensive care, including reliable emergency services. Addressing the concerns raised in the negative review proactively could turn a potential weakness into an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to continuous improvement and animal welfare across all scenarios.

Dec 28, 2024 · Lisa EasomeI will never recommend this clinic to anyone again. Seeing that we used this clinic yearly for our 4 animals for the basics and etc, just to be turned down when really needed. We go today with my service animal who ended up with a severe laceration on his foot. He was bleeding out and everywhere and had done lost a ton of blood. The secretary literally goes back and states that since I didn't have his shot record on hand it could be parvo, "after done being told what had happened and what caused the issue" but after coming back out from the back they state the doctor was busy an would be busy for 10-20 minutes. And recommend me to go to one that was over 30 minutes away. Idk but the math didn't add up there. Doctor was busy for up to 20 mins but yet send me to one that far. How do they not have the records for shots that was litterly given there. My dog almost died and they gave no care in the world about it. Didn't offer one bit of help or show any sort of sorrow.
Mar 28, 2025 · Scott JefferyThey gave my cat the most up right care I have ever seen was speedy about it to. I have had this cat for a month and a half he use to be a outside cat so I didn't know if his issues was medical stress or what and been in a panic but they help me out fast and quick got him medicated and vaccinated for a fair price too I highly recommend bringing your pets here I'm going to return with all my other pets for sure
Apr 25, 2025 · Dakota BrooksWe just took in a wonderful kitten 3 weeks ago. She started showing signs of a possible UTI recently. I called to see if we could bring her in. We were working with a tight budget and the doctor and staff were all so nice and accommodating. They diagnosed her quickly, went over all they had done and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend!
Dec 13, 2024 · Remington Christopher Yi SpraderThis is how I picked up my dog after boarding her for 4 days. Not only did they let my dog get attacked by multiple dogs they charged me for the antibiotics. She has multiple staples and lacerations all over her face. They charged me for the boarding still. Receptionist Tim said "sometimes dogs are dogs". They told me they had a peaceful play area option for well behaved dogs she could go to daily which they also charge for. Told me 2 employees will be watching over the dogs at all times. Then how does this happen? I'll tell you how. I walk outside to see the so called peaceful dogs and they are all going nuts and there was ZERO employees watching over them. I have video footage of this as well but can't upload a video on here. I've asked multiple times for someone in charge to call me but they said they are out of office and will call me back in a few days. Worst business ran operation I have ever seen. Don't take your animals here, and if you do definitely don't let them play in the peaceful dog eat dog area because "sometimes dogs are dogs" as Tim would say. Can't believe they let that guy talk with customers. Another terrible business decision.
