I really like this place. The staff is very polite and professional. They treated my Dog like family. I was able to show up early, right after opening, and was able to get a walk-in check up for my dog. I had called around and most vets don’t take walk-ins. I feel the price was fair for the quality of service. Some Vets are charging way too much, and because of that a lot of people can’t afford to take care of their pets needs. This place is fair. Most vets are booked up weeks ahead, so don’t wait until the last min to make an appointment. Please be polite to the staff, they seem to be doing the best they can with an overwhelming amount of clients.

Welcome to Animal Medical Center

Introducing Animal Medical Center, a well-regarded Pet Hospital located at 16540 Harbor Blvd A, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, USA, dedicated to providing comprehensive veterinary care for the local pet community. You can reach them at (714) 531-1155 or their mobile number +1 714-531-1155. Based on the positive feedback from numerous pet owners, we can offer insights into their environment, services, key features, and approach to client care.

While specific details about the physical environment of Animal Medical Center are not extensively described, the consistent praise for the staff suggests a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Reviewers highlight the politeness and professionalism of the team, indicating a client-focused environment where pet owners feel respected and valued. The ability to accommodate a walk-in appointment early in the morning suggests an efficient and accessible setup. It is reasonable to assume that as a functioning Pet Hospital, Animal Medical Center maintains a clean and organized facility with examination rooms equipped for various veterinary procedures. The positive sentiment from long-term clients, some of whom have been bringing their pets there since childhood, further implies a stable and trusted presence within the community.

Based on the experiences shared by pet owners, Animal Medical Center offers a range of essential veterinary services, including:

  • General Wellness Examinations: Providing routine check-ups to assess your pet's overall health and well-being. The positive experience with a walk-in check-up indicates this as a readily available service.
  • Vaccinations: Administering necessary vaccinations to protect pets from preventable diseases, as evidenced by a long-term client bringing their dog for shots.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: Addressing various health issues, as highlighted by the successful diagnosis and caring treatment of a dog's cough by Dr. Kendrick.
  • Walk-In Appointments (Limited Availability): Offering the convenience of walk-in check-ups, particularly early in the day, which is a significant advantage over many clinics requiring scheduled appointments. However, it's important to note the staff's potential workload due to a high volume of clients, suggesting that walk-in availability might be subject to capacity.
  • Compassionate Care: Demonstrating genuine care and treating pets like family, as explicitly mentioned by one reviewer. This highlights a patient-centric approach where the emotional well-being of the animal is considered.
  • Medication and Pharmaceutical Needs: As a medical center, they likely provide necessary medications and prescriptions for the treatment of various conditions.
  • Gentle Handling of Pets: The positive mention of a medical assistant, Lisa, being gentle and handling a dog with care indicates a focus on ensuring pets are comfortable and secure during examinations and procedures.

Several key features distinguish Animal Medical Center based on the customer reviews:

  • Polite and Professional Staff: Consistent praise for the staff's demeanor creates a positive experience for pet owners, fostering trust and confidence in the care provided.
  • Compassionate and Family-Like Treatment: The dedication to treating pets as family highlights a genuine care for animal welfare beyond just the medical aspects.
  • Accommodation of Walk-In Appointments: Offering walk-in services, especially for check-ups, provides flexibility and immediate attention for pressing, non-emergency concerns, which is a significant convenience for pet owners.
  • Fair and Reasonable Pricing: The perception of fair pricing is a major advantage, making quality veterinary care more accessible to a wider range of pet owners. This contrasts with concerns about overly expensive veterinary services elsewhere.
  • Experienced and Genuine Veterinarians: The positive feedback about Dr. Kendrick being "wonderful and genuine" underscores the quality of the medical professionals at the clinic.
  • Long-Standing Community Trust: The fact that clients have been visiting the clinic for generations speaks volumes about its reliability, consistency, and positive reputation within the local area.

I started bringing my pets here about 25 years ago and at first this place was amazing. It was a low cost clinic, which is why I drove from Anaheim to Fountain Valley. It's difficult living with several disabilities, on a fixed income. I don't know exactly when things changed, but prices slowly began increasing. Last Friday, I brought my cat in and asked the vet to euthanize her because she was very ill and suffering. He looked at her for about 3 seconds and said this cat does not need euthanized. The reason I wanted her euthanized is because she could no longer jump, she could barely walk on very wobbly legs and she wasn't eating. She is 15 so it made sense to me. So, long story shorter, instead of getting what I came in there for, he took blood and sent me home. They said it could take as long as 3 days for the results. Cat owners know that it's imperative their cat eats and drinks or they become seriously ill, simply from lack of food and water. He was so sure there was nothing wrong with her, he offered no other treatment to tide us over. When I brought her home, everything I told him continued to happen. I was very upset and called the nextday to let them know that she is incredibly sick, I was crying because I was watching her suffer and I wanted part of my money back because he was wrong. No one called me the rest of the day on Saturday or yesterday, but today I did get a call. It just wasn't the helpful call that I had anticipated. Like I told him on my initial visit, she is so weak she cannot even climb into the litter box. She does her best but can only put her front legs in, then urinates on the mat in front of the litter box. Does that sound like a healthy cat? Why this man dismissed us is beyond me, but here's the worst part. Today I received a phone call from the clinic that I assumed would be the test results, but wait! Apparently, they charged me the wrong amount so they WERE NOT calling to give me the test results to diagnose my cat, who is suffering, They were calling to ask me for $100, stating that they mischarged me at checkout. So, what she was saying is they are holding the results from my cat's blood work hostage until I paid the money. Because I was unhappy with the services I received, I told them I would not pay. Therefore, they did not give me the results. Does that sound like a person who is interested in the welfare of animals? So here I am with a cat that is slowly wasting away, who probably doesn't have enough time to wait for more lab work. In the voicemail, she said I paid for the Doctor to see my girl and the lab work, but they neglected to charge me $100 because we walked in, without an appointment. When we began going there, there was no fee charged, you paid the price by waiting a very long time to be "squeezed in". I have never come across a place who, when it was their error, did not make some type of compensation for me. Even the hardware store or the grocery store will make things right, always at their expense. I am at a loss as to why they have to be so cruel. I will never go there again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid them. If you choose to go there, please be sure to advocate for your animal, no matter what they say. Owners know their pets, especially if the vet does not do a thorough exam. I would like to add the videos I have of her trying to walk, trying to use the litter box and falling down when trying to walk, but it will only let me add a picture. So I will add one of my sweet girl hiding in my closet, on her side, waiting to die. I hate it that money runs the world.

I would give them a 3 because I was missed Informed about my puppy completing his vaccines. The last time I took my puppy in the receptionist said he was all good to go, no appointment needed plus they would usually write on the receipt an estimate day you could bring your puppy for the next round of vaccines and they never did. I called to ask for a record of his vaccines since I plan to take my puppy to Mexico with me on a trip and she then tells me he has not completed his vaccines! I was in shock!!!! I spend so much time, money and waiting for my pup to be seen, time off of work! For them to tell me I have to restart all vaccines again! Plus this is going to coast me again. It makes me sad because other than this issue everyone there is super nice and sweet to my puppy. Just the fact that I need to pay to repeat all vaccines again is frustrating. It would have been nice if the girl that answered the call apologized and said you might have been misinformed, she went on to say I have to repeat all vaccines and starts telling me prices, that annoyed me.

Would have given them a 5-star but they double booked on appointments and with appointments still waited 3 hours. They desperately need front desk help I still like the old original medical office it was more efficient but I still love the Dr and girls up front sweet..
