Services Offered

The Animal Medical Center of New England functions as an emergency and specialty hospital, indicating a far broader and more advanced range of services than a typical general practice clinic. Their service offerings are comprehensive and are designed to address both urgent and complex medical conditions. Based on their designation and common practices of similar high-tier animal medical centers, their services likely include:

  • Emergency and Urgent Care: This is a core service, with the hospital operating 7 days a week, often with extended or 24/7 hours for emergency cases, as indicated by their nature as a specialty and emergency hospital. They handle critical injuries, sudden illnesses, and other time-sensitive conditions.
  • Specialty Veterinary Services: This is a significant differentiator. Specialty services typically involve board-certified veterinarians in various fields. These can include, but are not limited to:
    • Internal Medicine: For complex medical conditions, including gastrointestinal, respiratory, endocrine, and immune-mediated diseases.
    • Surgery: Advanced surgical procedures beyond routine spays/neuters, such as orthopedic, soft tissue, and neurological surgeries.
    • Cardiology: Diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
    • Oncology: Cancer diagnosis and treatment options.
    • Neurology: Treatment of disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
    • Dermatology: Diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: To support specialty and emergency care, the hospital would be equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools such as digital radiography (X-rays), ultrasound, CT scans, and potentially MRI. An in-house laboratory for rapid blood work, urinalysis, and other critical tests is also a standard for such facilities.
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU): For critically ill or injured pets requiring continuous monitoring and specialized support.
  • Pain Management: Comprehensive approaches to managing acute and chronic pain.
  • Referral Services: Working in conjunction with primary care veterinarians who refer complex cases for specialized diagnosis and treatment.

The emphasis is on providing advanced, comprehensive medical solutions for pets when they require more than routine general practice care.

Dr Kircher is the absolute best of the best!! Can’t thank her enough for the amazing job she did with my boy. The staff was also warm and welcoming, greeted Kai and myself with a smile and showed Kai all kinds of love. I’ve been to many veterinary hospitals over the years but this place is by far the best and my 4 dogs will not see anyone else!! Thank you so much Shannon for getting me in and taking care of my boy!!

Pros and cons: Expensive - Definitely a good idea to inquire about which tests/procedures are immediately necessary and which may not be. (NOT SPECIFIC TO THIS PRACTICE - I mean NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO!) Waiting time was a little longer than expected (with an appointment), but staff are very courteous, kind, and great with animals!

I brought my kitty in with a suspected UTI/Bladder issues and the staff went above and beyond helping her and explaining everything to me, they were so kind and compassionate and helped my nerves during a stressful time.

The staff was incredibly nice and very Competent and kind. My only complaint is that I had to wait an hour and a half to see someone. I understand that they were in surgery, but I wish someone had let me know.
