Environment and Atmosphere

The environment at Animal House Veterinary Hospital is consistently described as welcoming and comforting, aimed at reducing stress for both pets and their owners. Reviews repeatedly highlight the "amazing staff" who "make you feel at home and like part of the family." This suggests a friendly and supportive atmosphere that extends beyond typical clinical interactions. For pet owners, feeling "at home" in a veterinary setting can significantly alleviate anxiety during what can often be stressful visits.

Crucially, the hospital prides itself on "low stress handling." This indicates a conscious effort to create a calm and positive experience for animals, which is particularly beneficial for anxious pets or those unaccustomed to veterinary visits. The testimonial about the leopard gecko receiving "exceptional care" from Dr. Nickle and her staff, who were "friendly and very understanding" despite the pet's condition, showcases their ability to provide compassionate care across a diverse range of species. The physical facility itself, described as a "new hospital" located conveniently near 71st street and Garnett, suggests a modern and well-maintained environment with state-of-the-art diagnostics.

  • Wellness Exams and Preventative Care: Routine physical exams are a cornerstone, covering nose-to-tail assessments of weight, eyes, ears, joints, heart, and lungs. They also provide counseling on diet, prevention, and supplements. Year-round prevention for fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites, and heartworms is also emphasized.

  • Surgical Procedures: The hospital is equipped to perform various surgeries, ranging from routine spays and neuters to more complex procedures such as foreign body removal, bladder stone removal, wound repair, tumor removal, and amputations. They ensure pet safety during surgery with pre-anesthetic bloodwork, breathing tubes, IV catheters, full ECG monitoring, and dedicated assistants.
  • Microchipping: They provide microchipping services and assist with registration, offering a crucial measure for pet identification and recovery if lost.

First time with Dr. Nickle and her team. She is so kind and made it clear that she cares about the animals she treats. She asked me more than once if I had any questions and took the time to address any concerns I had. They also didn't rush my skittish kitties and gave them time to acclimate. I was honestly blown away by how friendly and professional the team was. So glad to find a great vet in BA.

We went four days ago to have our cat checked out as she wasn't feeling well. She was 14 yrs old and stayed inside. She had developed a cyst on her side. Dr. Nickel discovered she had abnormal blood cells. She recommended bringing her to Veterinarian Specialists of Tulsa and have her examined there. So we did. I highly recommend going to see Dr. Clark if you have an animal that is ill

Took my bearded dragon in, he was a baby and he suffered a great fall and he wasn’t moving much, they told me his spinal cord was probably broken and they should check his ex ray. His femur and leg was broken, all they could tell me. They sent me home with a google article with wrong information on it, pain medicine for him, didn’t give me any advice and a 250$ bill. He soon died a couple weeks later due to grout, and I found that out because of a much more experienced reptile vet. Maybe a good vet for your regular animals, but definitely not reptiles.
