As a trusted partner in your pet's health and well-being, Animal Hospital of Parkland offers a wide range of services within a comfortable and caring environment.

Our facility is designed to create a welcoming and stress-free atmosphere for both you and your beloved companions. We understand that visiting a pet hospital can be an anxious experience for some animals, and our team strives to make each visit as calm and positive as possible. While specific details about the clinic's ambiance and layout are best experienced in person, we prioritize cleanliness, comfort, and efficiency in our space to ensure the highest standards of care.

Animal Hospital of Parkland offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services to address the diverse health needs of your pets. These services generally include:

  • Preventive Care: This cornerstone of animal health focuses on maintaining your pet's well-being through regular check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention (including heartworm, flea, and tick control), and nutritional counseling. Early detection of potential health issues through routine examinations can significantly improve long-term health outcomes.
  • Vaccinations: Protecting your pet from various infectious diseases is crucial. We offer a range of core and non-core vaccines tailored to your pet's species, age, lifestyle, and risk factors. Our veterinary team will discuss the appropriate vaccination schedule to ensure optimal protection.
  • Parasite Control: Internal and external parasites can cause discomfort and serious health problems in pets. We provide effective preventative medications and treatment options to combat fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites.
  • Nutritional Counseling: Proper nutrition plays a vital role in your pet's overall health. Our team can offer guidance on selecting the right food for your pet's specific needs, including dietary recommendations for different life stages and health conditions.
  • Dental Care: Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential for your pet's overall health. We offer dental examinations, cleanings, and can provide guidance on at-home dental care to prevent dental disease, which can lead to other systemic health issues if left untreated.
  • Diagnostic Services: When your pet is unwell, accurate diagnosis is key to effective treatment. Our hospital is equipped to perform various diagnostic procedures, which may include blood tests, urine analysis, fecal examinations, digital radiography (X-rays), and potentially ultrasound, to help identify the underlying cause of your pet's illness.
  • Surgery: Our experienced veterinary team performs a range of surgical procedures, including routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, as well as more complex soft tissue surgeries. We prioritize patient safety and utilize modern surgical techniques and monitoring equipment.
  • Anesthesia: Ensuring your pet's safety and comfort during surgical and certain diagnostic procedures is paramount. We utilize safe and effective anesthetic protocols tailored to each individual patient and closely monitor their vital signs throughout the procedure and recovery.
  • Pain Management: We understand that pain can significantly impact your pet's quality of life. Our team is dedicated to providing effective pain management strategies, both during and after procedures, as well as for chronic conditions.
  • Emergency Care: While specific emergency service availability should be confirmed directly with the clinic, pet hospitals often provide care for urgent medical situations during their operating hours. It's always best to call ahead in an emergency if possible.
  • Microchipping: This simple and permanent form of identification can significantly increase the chances of reuniting you with your lost pet. We offer microchipping services and can register your pet's information.
  • End-of-Life Care: During difficult times, we offer compassionate support and guidance for end-of-life decisions, including euthanasia services and grief counseling resources.

The Animal Hospital of Parkland, under the direction of Dr. Peterson Mark A DVM, aims to distinguish itself through a commitment to personalized care and a strong emphasis on the well-being of each animal. While specific unique features are best learned through direct interaction with the clinic, a common hallmark of reputable veterinary practices includes a team of knowledgeable and compassionate professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality of care. The positive review mentioning Dr. Mark and Dr. Renner, along with the wonderful and compassionate staff, suggests a focus on a caring and experienced team.

However, it is important to acknowledge that online reviews can offer varied perspectives. One review expresses a deeply concerning experience involving allegations of racial targeting and mishandling of a puppy. This review details serious accusations regarding communication, perceived disrespectful behavior, and a negative impact on the pet's well-being. It is crucial for potential clients to consider all available feedback when making decisions about their pet's care and perhaps seek further clarification from the clinic regarding these allegations.

Regarding promotional information, without specific details provided, it's challenging to outline current offers. Typically, pet hospitals may offer introductory discounts for new clients, seasonal promotions on specific services (like dental month or vaccination specials), or wellness packages that bundle essential preventive care services at a reduced rate. We encourage you to contact Animal Hospital of Parkland directly at (253) 536-1505 or +1 253-536-1505 to inquire about any current promotions or special offers for new clients.

In conclusion, Animal Hospital of Parkland, led by Dr. Peterson Mark A DVM in Tacoma, WA, positions itself as a pet hospital offering a wide array of veterinary services, from routine preventive care to surgical procedures. While one customer review highlights positive experiences with a compassionate and experienced team, another review raises serious concerns about the quality of service and treatment received. We recommend that prospective clients consider all available information and contact the clinic directly to discuss their pet's specific needs and address any questions or concerns they may have. Visiting the facility in person may also provide valuable insight into the environment and the team's approach to animal care. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Not only were we racially targeted and treated horribly but so was our puppy. Sara , the assistant approached us 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment time to give our dog his shots. When Sara reached out for my dog, I advised he bites and Sara’s response was, “well why would you hand me a dog that bites and without a muzzle? That’s not cool” Mind you, this is the first time we are going through this and having a dog that reacts this way (which is a part of why we were there). We did NOT know even how to put a muzzle on our dog yet Sara walked away, passed us the Muzzle in the lobby then proceeded to take him for shots. Comes back, no paperwork no supports on his shots and I began to express that as a new puppy owner of a dog that bites we did not and do not know the process but had Sara stopped and simply treated us as humans we could have communicated. Sara immediately cut me off while I simply expressing we did not know and began walking away. I asked did I not have an opportunity to communicate again with Sara and that we did not know and Sara refused to speak with us. When we asked for a manager we were told by the front desk that there is no manager so call back on Monday. Sara refused to come back up front and had the front desk give us our papers. As we were leaving, the front desk rep decided to say “Have a great day” while another customer comes in as if it were all a joke to them. When I responded asking for the front desk to pls not make it worse and mentioned this felt racial and was such a horrible experience after waiting and while my dog was so nervous and already worked up, they proceeded to tell me they were Hispanic and replied “oh please” as if this were to make a difference when literally we were there for help and got treated as less than humans while our dog STILL did not get what he needed. I hate this experience for my poor puppy who was so confused as were we and I hate it even more for anyone else who comes in and is a new owner with little knowledge and has melanin in their skin. Needless to say, again if we were treated as humans and had communication been an option, this may have never happened. And our puppy began throwing up in our vehicle after so now I am unsure how to even help him all because, I wasn’t educated or given a chance to get my puppy the help I thought this office could give. Don’t do it!

I am grateful for how attentive the vet and her assistant was to our furry companion Papito, who happens to be a rat. He has been very I’ll for 2 weeks and unfortunately I had a hard time finding a vet clinic that would see him. Thankfully the staff at this clinic made it possible for him to be seen right away and handled him so lovingly and genuine concern. I was very pleased with the experience.
