An incredibly compassionate and dedicated veterinarian with a welcoming and kind staff. When my Birdie was at Animal Hospital of Montgomery County, Dr. Romero treated her like she was his own dog. The quality of care and attention to her case spoke volumes. I never doubted that he and the staff were doing all that they could to keep her comfortable. Throughout the week, we were kept informed with any changes in her condition. Birdie was truly loved and cared for at this animal hospital by Dr. Romero and his staff. A review doesn’t do it justice.

The clinic prides itself on a "very smooth" process for getting patients "in and out" without excessive waiting, yet without rushing the interactions with the animals. This careful balance ensures that pets feel comfortable and unhurried during their visit, a crucial aspect for reducing stress in anxious animals. The clean, organized, and professionally managed space contributes significantly to the overall positive experience, fostering an atmosphere where pets are treated with respect and care, much like they would be in their own homes. The services offered by Animal Hospital of Montgomery, as a full-service "Pet Hospital" for dogs and cats, are comprehensive and designed to address a wide range of veterinary needs. Dr. Romero's background, having graduated from Texas A&M University in 1999 with an Animal Science Degree and completing his DVM at Ross University with a year of clinics at Louisiana State University, speaks to a strong foundation in veterinary medicine. His special interests in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery suggest a high level of expertise in these complex areas. Based on the designation of a "full service small animal facility" and common practices in modern pet hospitals, their services likely include, but are not limited to:

  • Routine Wellness and Preventative Care: This encompasses regular check-ups, vaccinations tailored to individual pet needs, parasite control (heartworm, flea, tick prevention), and comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Diagnostic Services: Utilizing in-house laboratory capabilities for blood work, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and cytology, as well as advanced imaging techniques like X-rays (radiography) and potentially ultrasound for accurate diagnosis of various conditions.
  • Surgical Procedures: Given Dr. Romero's interests, this would include a wide array of soft tissue surgeries (e.g., spays, neuters, tumor removals) and orthopedic surgeries for bone and joint issues.
  • Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings, extractions, and oral health assessments to prevent and treat periodontal disease.
  • Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions affecting internal organs and systems.
  • Emergency and Critical Care: While not explicitly stated as 24/7 emergency, a full-service hospital typically has protocols for handling urgent cases during business hours and provides guidance for after-hours emergencies.
  • Microchipping: For pet identification and recovery in case of loss.
  • Nutritional Counseling and Behavioral Advice: Guidance on proper diet and addressing common behavioral issues to promote overall pet well-being.
The hospital's goal is to be a partner in a pet's physical and mental well-being, ensuring many happy years together.

Having staff personnel greet me as soon as I walk in the door speaks volumes. Their flow of getting patients in and out was very smooth. There was no excessive waiting, but they didn’t rush while working with my dogs. They were very productive and informative and met all of my dogs needs. I am very happy with my visit and will definitely bring my dogs back. I look forward to many more stress free check ups. Thanks!

I have been bringing my dogs to Dr. Romero and his staff for 10 years. I am a dog breeder, so my relationship with my vet is very important. Dr. Romero's expertise is impressive and his compassion is obvious. His staff and the other doctors are also caring, skilled and helpful. While checking out some time ago, I was chatting to another client who said her dogs love coming to this place! I highly recommend this facility.

I am a daughter of a vet so I am always watchful and cautious about any Vet Hospital. We have been taking our precious dogs to another hospital where we were very pleased, but we needed a Vet Hospital closer to home. I was very pleased with service that we received. The staff was helpful and informative to me. The staff was kind and playful with our 2 dogs. I felt the prices were reasonable. We also boarded our dogs there for 5 days and I feel our dogs were well cared for. I really appreciated the free bath after a 3 day stay.

My dogs hate going to the Vet and are very unhappy being there, with that said it would be nice if checking out and paying could take less time than the examination.
