I’m writing this with a heavy heart. I trusted AHCS with the care of my dog, Bentley and I believe a lack of attention and proper care contributed to his passing. My dog began losing weight back in February. Then, I figured he was a picky eater so I took him to this vet to rule out any serious issues on 3/3/25. There were warning signs that I feel were not taken seriously enough, as no blood work was completed on my dog to ensure it wasn’t just that he was a picky eater. I was simply told that “some dogs just don’t like dog food.” and that that particular provider has seen dogs that were even skinnier. My concerns weren’t fully addressed, and in the end, my dog paid the price. I ended up taking him to a different vet for a second opinion on 4/15/25 after repeated attempts to find different meal options for my dog, but to no avail. They ended up running blood work and we were told that there was no way to save my dog and that I would need to say my goodbyes to him due to kidney failure. I understand that medicine is complex and outcomes aren’t always in anyone’s control, but I expected more diligence, communication, and compassion—especially in such a critical time. Losing him has been devastating, and I don’t want anyone else to experience the same pain. Please be cautious and always advocate strongly for your pet, even when you think you’re in safe hands.

Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs Introduce
Welcome to the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs, a Pet Hospital located at 1015 Cheyenne Meadows Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. This facility aims to provide veterinary care for pets in the Colorado Springs area. Based on recent online reviews, experiences with the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs appear to be varied, with some pet owners expressing deep concerns while others report positive interactions, particularly regarding routine care.
One detailed review expresses significant heartbreak and concern regarding the care provided to their dog, Bentley. The reviewer recounts that their dog began losing weight in February and was taken to the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs on March 3, 2025, to rule out any serious issues. The owner felt that certain warning signs were not adequately addressed, as no blood work was performed to investigate the weight loss beyond the assumption that the dog might be a picky eater. The advice given was that "some dogs just don’t like dog food" and that the provider had seen even skinnier dogs. The owner's concerns were not fully addressed, and subsequently, after repeated failed attempts to find suitable food, the dog was taken to another vet on April 15, 2025. This second opinion led to blood work revealing kidney failure, and the dog could not be saved. The reviewer expresses deep sadness and a feeling that a lack of diligence, communication, and compassion at the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs may have contributed to this outcome. They urge other pet owners to be cautious and advocate strongly for their pets.
In contrast, another recent review describes a positive experience, particularly concerning routine care. This pet owner mentioned that their "baby" was seen promptly for full vaccinations and was treated with "so much love & kisses" by the staff. They were pleased that their pet seemed happy and comfortable with the staff, contrasting it with a previous vet visit where their pet was distressed. This reviewer expressed gratitude for the caring treatment their pet received, feeling that their pet was treated "as your own." This suggests that the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs may excel in providing a warm and welcoming environment for routine procedures like vaccinations.
Given these contrasting experiences, it's important for local users to consider both perspectives. The Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs, as a Pet Hospital, likely offers a range of veterinary services, which may include:
- Wellness Exams: Routine check-ups to monitor your pet's health.
- Vaccinations: Administering necessary immunizations.
- Diagnostic Services: Although one review expressed concerns about the extent of diagnostics performed in their case, the hospital would generally offer diagnostic tools.
- Treatment of Illnesses: Addressing various medical conditions in pets.
- Preventative Care: Guidance on nutrition, parasite control, and other aspects of pet health.
The features of the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs appear to include a potentially caring and affectionate staff, as highlighted by the positive vaccination experience. However, the negative review raises concerns about the thoroughness of initial diagnostics and the level of communication and compassion in more serious cases. It is crucial for pet owners to feel heard and for their concerns to be addressed comprehensively.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available from these reviews. Animal hospitals may occasionally offer specials for new clients or certain services. To learn about any potential promotions at the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs, it would be best to contact them directly.
In summary, the Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs in Colorado Springs, CO, is a Pet Hospital that has received both positive feedback regarding caring staff and efficient routine services like vaccinations, and a deeply concerning review highlighting potential issues with diagnostic thoroughness, communication, and compassion in a serious health situation. Local users should consider these differing experiences when making decisions about their pet's care and may wish to seek further information or clarification from the hospital directly.

Apr 21, 2025 · Aaliyah CushonThank you so much! My baby was able to be seen right away to get her full vaccinations. They treated her with so much love & kisses! I’m so glad we found a place she would get excited to be hugged by the staff & she wouldn’t stop jumping on the nurse even after been taken to the back for her shots etc.😬 The last vet we visited took her in the back & I couldn’t see what’s going on but when they brought her back she was whining, shaking so much & she really tried her best to be away from the staff. Again thank you so much for treating my baby girl as your own! 😊
Apr 30, 2025 · MichelleMy dog has a rare disease and it's been a struggle finding a vet that's well-educated and highly knowledgeable about her illness. I took her to AHOCS, and was incredibly impressed by Dr. Kayla Christy's expertise in this area, not to mention her compassion and her dedication to finding solutions. A lot of vets seem to rush me through appointments, but the Dr. Christy spent a lot of time with us, allowing me to ask every last question I had. She was also sensitive to my financial situation and did what she could to accommodate my budget. And a far as my dog's treatments go, so far so good! She's doing better than she has in a long time. I'm super grateful and highly recommend taking your precious fur babies to Animal Hospital of Colorado Springs.
Apr 19, 2025 · Corry SeibertThe entire team was so sweet and really cared about my pup. They ensured I knew my options and were compassionate. Even though I had to transfer my puppy for an emergency surgery; they have continued contact to check on him and see if I had any questions. I can't thank them enough!
Mar 23, 2025 · April MartinezWe had just moved back and had to bring our boy of ten years in because of rapid health problems. Dr. Bleicher, Ileana, and the entire staff were with us through one of the most difficult decisions of our lives. If you're in need of a life long vet or an emergency visit I'd implore anyone to bring their family here.
