Welcome to Animal Health & Healing

Welcome to an in-depth introduction to Animal Health & Healing, a veterinary care provider located at 2615 S Big Bend Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63143, USA, now being presented to our local users in Singapore who may be interested in a more holistic approach to pet care. While a direct physical visit to their clinic in the United States is not a practical option for residents of Singapore, understanding the experiences of their existing clientele can offer valuable insights into their unique philosophy, services, and overall approach as a Pet Hospital. Choosing the right veterinary care for your beloved companions is a significant decision, and this overview, based on the publicly available customer reviews, aims to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of what makes Animal Health & Healing noteworthy, particularly for those seeking alternative and complementary therapies alongside conventional veterinary medicine, potentially for telemedicine advice, reliable pet health information, or considering future service expansions that might cater to an international audience.

Although we cannot provide a firsthand account of the physical environment of Animal Health & Healing for our Singaporean users, the available reviews offer a strong sense of a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. One long-term client of over four and a half years specifically mentioned the convenience of the location and the friendliness of the staff. Another reviewer, who sought a more holistic approach due to their dog's significant allergies, found exactly what they were looking for at Animal Health & Healing. This suggests an environment where the team is not only competent but also approachable and supportive of diverse approaches to pet wellness. While specific details about the clinic's layout or facilities are not provided, the positive testimonials imply a comfortable and well-suited space for both conventional and alternative treatments.

Based on the experiences shared by their clients, Animal Health & Healing offers a distinctive range of services that integrates both conventional and holistic veterinary medicine. The reviews specifically mention:

  • Annual Checkups and Wellness Exams: Routine preventative care is a cornerstone of their services, ensuring the ongoing health of pets.
  • Laser Therapy: This non-invasive treatment is used for various therapeutic purposes, such as pain management and promoting healing.
  • Acupuncture: A traditional Chinese medicine technique used to stimulate specific points on the body to promote health and well-being.
  • Holistic Veterinary Medicine: This approach focuses on treating the whole animal, considering all aspects of their health and lifestyle.
  • Support and Guidance for Raw Feeding: They provide expertise and support for pet owners interested in feeding their pets a raw food diet.
  • Minimal Vaccination Protocols: They work with pet owners to develop vaccination schedules that are tailored to the individual needs of their pets.
  • Responsive Care for Serious Illnesses: The detailed account of a dog diagnosed with a brain tumor highlights their responsiveness, support, and compassionate care during a challenging time, including facilitating timely euthanasia.

A key feature of Animal Health & Healing is their integrated approach to veterinary medicine, combining conventional practices with holistic therapies. This allows them to offer a broader range of treatment options tailored to the individual needs and preferences of pet owners. The fact that one client specifically sought them out for a more holistic approach to managing their dog's allergies, and found complete success, underscores this unique feature.

Another significant feature is the personalized and attentive care provided by Dr. Snodgrass. Multiple reviewers highlight her willingness to take the time to listen to concerns, explain things thoroughly, and present all available options to pet owners. This commitment to clear communication and shared decision-making fosters trust and empowers pet owners in their pet's care.

The emphasis on building a strong veterinarian-client-patient relationship is also evident in the reviews. Dr. Snodgrass's approach of taking time to listen and explain things indicates a dedication to understanding each pet's unique situation and the owner's perspective. This personalized attention contributes to a feeling of being heard and supported.

The responsiveness and compassionate support provided during critical times, such as the eleven-month period when a dog was battling a brain tumor, further highlight the exceptional care offered at Animal Health & Healing. The team's willingness to be highly responsive to calls, questions, and concerns, and their efforts to accommodate a difficult situation with compassion and urgency, speak volumes about their dedication to their patients and their owners.

The positive feedback consistently mentions the friendliness and caring nature of the entire staff, including Karen and Debora, in addition to Dr. Snodgrass. This suggests a cohesive and compassionate team dedicated to providing a positive experience for every pet and owner who walks through their doors, or in this context, engages with their philosophy and potential remote services.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for local users in Singapore. However, the strong positive testimonials regarding the successful holistic treatment of allergies, the integration of alternative therapies like laser and acupuncture, and the compassionate support during serious illness serve as compelling reasons for pet owners seeking this type of care to consider Animal Health & Healing for potential remote consultations or information.

I started taking my pets to AHH when I got sick of western veterinary medicine for treatment of my dogs significant allergies. I wanted a vet that would treat her more holistically and would support and guide me through raw feeding and minimal vaccination for her and my cats. This is exactly what I got and I'm so grateful! Dr. Snodgrass always takes time to listen and explain things, and gives you all of your options. My dog's allergies were completely cured with her help and my cats are also treated wonderfully. During the summer of 2023 my dog started having seizures and was diagnosed with a Brain tumor. Dr. Snodgrass and team were very very very responsive to my calls, questions, requests, and concerns. I always felt heard and supported through the entire 11 months before she passed. The day she passed she was having a significant cluster seizure and Karen did everything she could to make sure they could accommodate an appointment ASAP to euthanize her. Though the last several years I have delt mostly with Dr. Snodgrass, Karen, and Debora, but every single person there is so amazing and caring and I appreciate them so much!

The staff at Animal Health & Healing is second to none. The first time I called, they hadn’t even seen my dog before - Karen was so patient answering all my questions and was just genuinely so kind. I then scheduled an appointment with Dr. Garden for my Lab, Yadi, and I have never looked back. She has given me the best advice and guidance when it comes to supplements and maintaining his overall wellness that while he’s almost 11 - he’s as spry as he was 5 or 6 years ago. I could go on and on, but if you are able to get an appointment I highly recommend 10/10.

It took me a while to be able to write this. In October 2018 my sweet girl was diagnosed with cancer. My vet sent me to a specialist in west county who told me she was inoperable and she probably had about 2 months to live. I then took her to the University of Illinois vet center. They did a full body scan and said there were to many tumors to operate and I could try Kemo. Holly had one dose and was sick for 4 days. I decided not to make her suffer. Then I began searching for other alternatives to keep her comfortable. When I went to Animal Health and Healing I finally found someone willing to help. I was given recipes to cook meals for her as well as some herbs and ideas to keep her comfortable. To make a long story short in June of 2019 she was doing so well I decided to have her scanned again. Our vet was surprised to see the cancer had not grown. She had lost weight and was jumping on our bed again. At the end of September 2019 I came home and she was having trouble breathing and standing. The next morning I made the hardest decision of my life and let Holly go to Rainbow Bridge. I will always feel indebted to these loving people who allowed me to spend another year with my best friend. Thank you for your love and dedication to animals.

I don't write many bad reviews, but I feel cheated out of $675. Plus, I need to pay for another appt at my previous vet bc I’m uncomfortable with the care we received. 1. I wasn't allowed to watch the $165 mystery exam that Dr Garden did in a separate room WITHOUT me (7/2024, so not Covid). This is incredibly disconcerting, shady, unprofessional and breaks every bit of trust. EVERY new patient should be made aware that they can't watch the exam because I NEVER would have made the appt. I should have walked out immediately once I realized I couldn't see his exam, but I was caught off guard since it's so bizarre and shady. 2. One side of his chest is significantly larger and lumpy, which was and IS still my main concern. After bringing him back from the mystery exam, she didn't mention his chest being lopsided and something to keep an eye on. I asked her about it, and she said she did a thorough exam and didn't feel any lumps. I showed her where the obvious lumps are so she could feel them, and she felt his chest from the front and said it feels symmetrical. I said they're noticeable when feeling from behind, but she didn't try. After driving home and asking others about his chest, they said it's definitely noticeably different and were shocked she didn't address it. So, I drove back and waited until she had a moment to look again. The vet wouldn't talk to me and had a staff member bring my dog back to her. The staff member came back with him and said it's fine and Dr. Garden didn't mention it bc it's just fatty tissue, which is NOT TRUE because she told me both sides felt even when I asked her to check again. She couldn't even come talk to me after not mentioning it the first time and me driving home and back bc of her lack of attention and concern. Even if it's fatty tissue, I should have been told about it for simple education and so I didn't notice it later and worry. I should have been told when there is a reason to worry and what kind of changes to look for. 3. I expected to have a conversation about general wellness and prevention during the appt. Isn't that why I paid extra? The flyers in a folder shouldn't count as providing a wellness consultation. The rest of the staff, especially Karen, is incredible
