Animal General

We've been taking our now 14-year-old dog to Animal General for 4-5 years and I recommend the practice highly. All the vets, reception staff, and staff who assist the vets are to a person well-trained and skillful, helpful, thoughtful, kind, and considerate - to both our dog and us, his humans. We get appointments and answers to questions quickly and easily. Billing and discussions of costs are prompt and clear. And they have helped manage our dog's diabetes successfully for the past 3.5 years, and high blood pressure for about a year. Our dog's quality of life, and therefore ours, is good thanks to Animal General.

Our dog has been under Animal General's care since we adopted him at 10 weeks old (five years ago). The staff has always been caring and very knowledgable. No one is ever pushy about procedures. Appointments are easy to get (including same day) and the team is very responsive. The offices and exam rooms are clean.

I want to thank the entire team for taking such AH-MAY-ZING care of my little Dust Bunny Le Fluf! She is a senior shih tzu who had quite an eventful annual exam and dental. The entire team is very sweet and took exceptional care of her over an almost 3 hour procedure with over a dozen extractions! She was up, eating, happy, playful just as usual the very next day. Their recommendations for her care were well thought out and I felt very comfortable with going with the plan. Really excellent experience for our first time, all around!

Animal General hospital has been one of the most credible veterinary facilities on the Upper West Side for decades. The veterinarians and staff are personable & very professional. Highly recommended!

I’ve been going to Animal General for approximately 17 years.. There have been new faces, but always a high standard of care and compassion, vets and staff. The staff clearly love animals. Pets are asked after and fussed over. They know our elderly Cavalier by name (Pixie). At any medical office the support staff are critical for success. (If often overlooked). Here they are great. Your tests will be run, phone calls answered, case history remembered and available. We are grateful their care has helped our dog become long lived and in good shape. 10/10 would recommend
