Medical treatments may include prescription eye drops, ointments, and oral medications to manage conditions like infections, inflammation, and glaucoma. When surgical intervention is necessary, their skilled surgeons are equipped to perform a variety of procedures, such as:
- Cataract surgery: Removal of cloudy lenses and often replacement with artificial lenses to restore vision.
- Glaucoma surgery: Procedures to reduce intraocular pressure and manage this sight-threatening condition.
- Eyelid surgery: Correction of conditions like entropion (inward rolling of the eyelid) or ectropion (outward rolling of the eyelid).
- Corneal surgery: Repair of corneal ulcers, lacerations, or other injuries.

Apr 12, 2025 · Judy BeedyThere are no words to truly show how much I LOVE everyone at Animal Eye Care of Ladson, SC. When my boyfriend found this little kitten (named Oja - pronounced O-HA), with a bit of an eye issue we had no idea the journey ahead was going to be so challenging. This eye infection was the most aggressive I have ever experienced. Then we found this amazing practice, with the most amazing Doctors and staff to help us. A very long story short, we tried every antibiotic, eye drops, etc. The infection continued to spread to the other eye as well. After realizing nothing was working, I took Oja in for surgery. I have always had cats in my life but never a blind one. I assure you Oja has adapted better than I could have imagined. I owe this sweet kitty's health to the amazing staff at Animal Eye Care of Ladson. Five stars does not begin to give them the accolades they deserve. I give them a trillion stars!!!! This is our Oja now!

Jan 28, 2025 · Dave BrunoBest experience with a veterinarian ever! I brought in my foster kitten who's had severe eye infection before and would barely ever open her eyes (I took her to a regular vet before and they gave me some antibiotic eye drops and said there is nothing more to do). Within minutes of coming to AEC I was told she had entropion, a condition when the eyelid rolls inward causing the eyelashes to rub the eye surface, and immediately they offered to do a quick procedure to tack the eyelids to keep them open properly and to relieve her from constant discomfort. They didn't make me come back another time like most doctors would for even minor surgery, in under an hour I was out of their office with a happy kitty who can now see and is pain free! I wish I could come here for all my vet needs!
