The vet here financially exploits clients who informs them that they have insurance. My cat was sick with a stomach infection but the vet ordered things like x-rays and a whole plethora of things. The bill was almost $1000 and guess what, insurance didn’t pay anything. None of it was necessary. In the end the vet gave antibiotics that helped but it wasn’t great that she’s been scaring her clients about feline disease and ordered literally every test possible.

Welcome to ANIMAL CLINIC

Welcome to ANIMAL CLINIC, a "Pet Hospital" located at 2064 Cross Bronx Expy, Bronx, NY 10472, USA. Based on available customer reviews, ANIMAL CLINIC appears to offer a range of services including veterinary care, the sale of pet supplies, and grooming services for dogs. It is important for local users to consider the diverse perspectives presented in the feedback when evaluating this establishment for their pet care needs.

Information regarding the environment of ANIMAL CLINIC is somewhat mixed based on the provided reviews. One reviewer who sought veterinary care for a sick cat did not comment on the physical space itself. However, another reviewer described it as a "great place to go for pet supplies" and noted the presence of "cats all over the place." This suggests a potentially more retail-oriented environment where animals, possibly adoptable cats, are present. The mention of a spaciousness conducive to displaying pet supplies can be inferred. The grooming services also imply a dedicated area equipped for washing, drying, and styling dogs. Overall, the environment seems to cater to both retail and service aspects of pet care.

The services offered at ANIMAL CLINIC, as indicated by the customer reviews, include:

  • Veterinary Care: One review details an experience of seeking veterinary treatment for a cat with a stomach infection. The reviewer mentioned being seen by a vet who ordered several diagnostic tests, including X-rays, resulting in a substantial bill. The eventual treatment involved antibiotics. This indicates that ANIMAL CLINIC does provide medical services for pets, including consultations, diagnostics, and medication. However, this review also raises concerns about the necessity and cost of the diagnostic procedures ordered, particularly in relation to insurance coverage.
  • Pet Supplies: A more positive review explicitly states that ANIMAL CLINIC is a "great place to go for pet supplies." This suggests that they stock and sell a variety of items that pet owners may need, such as food, toys, medications, and other accessories. The reviewer also mentioned receiving guidance from the staff on how to administer purchased medication, indicating a level of customer service associated with their retail offerings.
  • Dog Grooming: The same positive review notes that ANIMAL CLINIC provides "grooming for all kinds of dogs." This implies that they have the facilities and staff to offer services such as bathing, brushing, hair trimming, nail clipping, and other grooming procedures for canines of various breeds and sizes.
  • Potential Cat Adoption/Interaction: The observation of "cats all over the place" might suggest that ANIMAL CLINIC is involved in some form of cat rescue or adoption program, or at least provides a very cat-friendly environment where they may roam freely within certain areas. This could be a unique feature for cat lovers who visit the clinic for other services or supplies.

The features of ANIMAL CLINIC present a mixed picture based on the contrasting customer experiences. On the positive side, the clinic offers a convenient combination of veterinary services, pet supplies, and dog grooming in one location. The staff are described as "very nice" and helpful, particularly in assisting customers with using purchased medications. The potential presence of cats throughout the clinic could be a unique and appealing feature for cat enthusiasts. However, a significant concern is raised by the negative review regarding the veterinary practices. The accusation of financial exploitation of clients with insurance, the ordering of numerous seemingly unnecessary tests, and the subsequent high bill are serious issues that potential clients should be aware of. This review suggests a potential lack of transparency or ethical billing practices in some veterinary cases. The fact that the eventually effective treatment was a standard antibiotic raises further questions about the necessity of the extensive and costly diagnostics.

Given the severely negative feedback regarding potential overcharging for veterinary services, there is no indication of any positive promotional information. In fact, the negative review serves as a cautionary note for potential clients, particularly those with pet insurance. It would be prudent for local users considering ANIMAL CLINIC for veterinary care to seek additional opinions or inquire in detail about the costs and necessity of any proposed diagnostic or treatment plans before proceeding.

For local users in the Bronx, NY, ANIMAL CLINIC at 2064 Cross Bronx Expy offers a multi-faceted approach to pet care, providing veterinary services alongside pet supplies and dog grooming. The presence of friendly staff and a potentially cat-friendly environment are noted as positives. However, it is critical to acknowledge the serious concerns raised in one review regarding the veterinary billing practices and the perceived ordering of unnecessary and expensive tests. This feedback suggests a potential risk of financial exploitation, particularly for insured clients. While the clinic may be a convenient option for supplies and grooming, individuals seeking veterinary care should exercise caution and consider this negative experience when making their decision. It would be advisable to seek transparent communication about costs and the necessity of all recommended procedures.

In conclusion, ANIMAL CLINIC offers a range of pet-related services, which could be convenient for local pet owners. However, the stark contrast in customer reviews, particularly the serious accusation of financial exploitation in veterinary care, necessitates careful consideration. While the clinic may excel in areas like pet supplies and grooming, potential veterinary clients should be aware of the reported negative experience and proceed with caution, ensuring clear communication and understanding of all proposed treatments and associated costs.

This is a great place to go for pet supplies, they do grooming for all kinds of dogs, and best of all they have cats all over the place. The staff are very nice and taught me how to apply the medicine that I bought. I will come back for sure.
