I love this place! They always take great care of my Rosie and the whole staff is so kind and helpful and knowledgeable. They are very transparent about pricing which I really appreciate as a college student. Dr. Brielle and Miss Heidi are both wonderful. The staff here has always created an effective treatment plan that works for me and my baby. I won’t go anywhere else! (:

You can’t get any better than Dr. Medina and the team at Animal Care Center Hays County. We recently brought in our 5 month old kitten Toulouse where he was immediately treated for hypoglycemia. They saved his life- without their help we wouldn’t have him home with us today. Not only have they played a critical role in Toulouse’s pet emergency, but they also helped us save the life of our other kitten Maui when we found her on the brink of death in a field. They worked with us for 4 straight months to get her into tip top shape. Not only will she now live a long, healthy, happy life but she’ll also get the benefit of doing that with both eyes! Dr. Medina also helped us navigate the end of our first dogs life. He was 11 and the team helped us keep him comfortable through his last day. Thankfully, our two year old pup Charlee has been a healthy pup and has only needed the usual treatment from the animal center team. They are great for the day to day too! Overall, I can’t recommend the team enough. They are honest, compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable. You won’t regret taking your pets here!

Edited (27Apr25): My dog was itchy all time -DOCTOR recommended bravecto and it worked got rid of all fleas (you can buy this at chewy, but he never told me this thing may cause neurological damage). As I keep moving in this journey, I found that fleas live everywhere so I have so use a flea comb and brush my dog’s hair often when see him scratch or when we come from a walk rather than keep using bravecto. If you see a flea quickly cover it with your finger, place the comb in ziploc bag and kill the flea. I would only use bravecto if the dog has a lot -He also sold me a medicated shampoo, not to mention he made me get a rabies vaccine which I don’t appreciate. -He was also talking to me about some type of surgery and dental care he might need. BS. IF I come for a problem just solve the problem don’t try to sell me other problems or charge me more for other things. -My girlfriend told me another vet recommended this products for allergies and hot spots (my dog does not have allergies but I thought he did because of the red spots) but this was due to the flea bites. -Best dog food out there is The honest kitchen brand. I supplement that with dry single ingredient meats with dry veggies I bought or sometimes I add real cooked meats or bacon in the mix. -if your dog has upset stomach they eat grass thats all they need but after 30 min or so walk with the dog if you hear noise in stomach. Is time to discharge poop. -you don’t need medicated shampoo for fleas. Any shampoo will kill them or water will drown them. I use aveno from the baby section. Shower once every two weeks. Or once a week if fleas are very bad. summary: get rid of fleas your self with comb and brush daily. Use the food and treats I recommend. Use a baby shampoo not the full of chemicals trash they sell. And if you see hot spots or badly rash I got some blue stuff at heb Just follow instructions it worked. But this thing is potent the affected red area recovered. ITS SIMPLE : If you wouldn’t eat it don’t give it to them they been with us for millennia they eat normal food. They also eat when they are hungry so once or twice a day depends on dog. don’t buy the trash kibble. For treats I do bully sticks I use pawstruck brand. DONT buy mightypaw brand chicken treats say single ingredient but is not got stomach upset badly. Before vet. Try shower and leave shampoo for several minutes to kill fleas. Brush daily for fleas chance they live with you. Give your dog what he would normally eat with our ancestors (real food). Let it eat grass if needs to. Try to walk in places where not a lot of dogs walk to avoid bringing more fleas. Bravecto works but is up to you.

I had a great experience at the Animal Care Center of Hays County. My dog Rifle and his little brother received excellent care here, and I felt completely at ease with the treatment they received. Dr. Sydney Medina is highly skilled and professional, answering all of our questions with expertise. Rifle is usually anxious at the vet, but he was noticeably calmer during this visit. We've been to several different places in the area, and this one is by far the best!

I absolutely love this place! I have been a client here since my doggo was a small pup till now at 5 years old (pictured) . I remember looking around for local vet places around town that was affordable especially when I was in college and I came across this place. They beat everybody else’s prices and are super accommodating in regards to what you can and can’t afford. They always give you estimates beforehand just to go ahead and confirm that everything is good and price affordable. My Dog Levi is a bit of a bigger boy, and he can be kind of reactive towards other animals, and they always accommodate and make him feel secure. I absolutely love the way that they treat patients and our fur babies. I’ve already recommended two friends to go here, and they absolutely love the care and dedication that they put towards our pets.
