Aug 16, 2024 路 Susan ManganelloI will be up front, the office staff and Dr. are very professional and my adopted Cavalier was treated very well. Dr. Forney does provide a breakdown of the echo cardiogram and visit and he does respond to his email's - that part is great and when you request a medication he does go over it and he does prescribe it. My Cavalier was adopted in 9/2023 and was obese and already had Congestive Heart Failure and he probably had this horrible disease dating back to 7/2022 so he was what I feel was at the end stages of this CHF as his bones were protruding. 2 vets already had warned us to "prepare ourselves" as our Cavalier looked like a skeleton (no muscle mass anymore). Heart was not pumping as well and he looked like this for probably around 8 months But this facility came highly recommended so we tried it and one of the medications the Dr. prescribed was actually working on the fluid retention (dogs belly was so filled with fluid that even after it was drained at this facility), within 2 weeks it was filled again. But the medication that he was on in the last week of his life actually worked and was getting rid of the fluid. The dog was still eating and drinking until the very last days and ate on the last day but then that very late evening, he went South. I feel that his heart got to a point where it just couldn't pump efficiently enough even with medication to keep him alive or his organs functioning. Even though he was dying, we were able to keep him in his favorite position where he was still comfortable until he passed away. Now being transparent, there is not much that can be done towards the latter part of congestive heart failure unless you pay probably about 30k to have heart surgery on your animal in England (I believe it can be done there) to possibly repair the leaky valves (if that can even be done successfully). I think this facility is great when your animal starts to get a grade 4 or higher murmur or the very EARLY stages of Congestive Heart Failure so it can treated head on and delaying the time to when it gets worse. But, that being said, every other aspect was fine and I really have nothing negative to say about the Dr. and the facility. My dog had been on several heart medications since we adopted him that most likely helped him live longer than he should have. Best wishes to anyone reading this who has an animal with CHF. This review was redone from my original one.
Mar 02, 2025 路 Dan M.WOW! That is about the all there is to say. Dr. Forney and his whole staff are wonderful. They saw our senior kitty Logan and helped put us at ease for some other dental and hyperthyroidism treatments we are working on getting him, after Logan's routine vet had concerns over his heart health. Thank you, Dr. Forney and office staff. You are wonderful, I cannot thank you enough for the services you provide.
Jan 31, 2025 路 Steven MI hate that I had to bring my dog here (she's getting old!) but Dr. Forney and his staff really made this a good experience. They were so sweet and gentle with my girl, which made me feel so much better. Also loved that everyone took the time to answer any questions I had and addressed my concerns. Thank you so much for your kindness and expertise!
