Congratulations to Dr. Chang for removing what he said was the largest uterus he has ever seen, from my little fur baby Sloane. Sloane had been quite healthy her entire life until she suddenly developed pyometra. I can confidently say that Dr. Chang and his team saved Sloane’s life. This was the second animal ER I took Sloane to. I originally went to the 24/7 emergency vet in Eagle Rock but there were some major red flags. Firstly, the doctor wouldn’t even come out to talk to me in person, rather spoke to me on the phone. Secondly, the quoted treatment included multiple unnecessary medications and services which they would not remove. (I’m a paramedic so I understand what is and what isn’t necessary). Upon arriving at Animal AM ER in Pasadena, we were greeted warmly and seen urgently within minutes, considering the severity of Sloane’s condition. Dr. Chang spoke with us in person, explaining in detail what the plan of care was. He was knowledgeable and had an amazing “vibe” to him. From that moment I knew Sloane was in good hands.

Given its role as an emergency clinic, the facility is equipped with areas for immediate triage, diagnostic testing, and potentially, surgical procedures. The waiting area, though it may experience varying wait times depending on the severity of incoming cases, is managed by a compassionate front desk team, as highlighted by customer reviews, who play a crucial role in providing support and information during anxious moments. The clinic's layout likely prioritizes quick access to examination rooms and treatment areas to ensure that pets in critical condition receive prompt attention.

The services offered by Animal-AM Emergency Clinic of Pasadena are extensive, covering both emergency and routine veterinary needs. Their primary focus, as the name suggests, is emergency care. This includes handling a wide array of critical conditions, from sudden illnesses like pyometra, as detailed in a customer review, to injuries, accidents, and acute onset of symptoms such such as eye trauma. They are equipped for triage-basis emergency service, meaning patients are seen based on the severity of their condition, similar to a human emergency room. Beyond emergencies, the clinic also provides routine services, such as annual examinations, various vaccinations, and even dentistry. Surgical capabilities extend to both elective procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as emergency surgeries, demonstrating their comprehensive approach to animal healthcare. The clinic also offers in-house diagnostics, including laboratory testing (like CBC, CHEM, UA) and imaging such as digital X-rays and ultrasound. An on-site pharmacy ensures that prescribed medications can be dispensed promptly, a critical convenience during emergencies. Customer testimonials frequently praise the veterinarians, particularly Dr. Chang, and the technicians like Daniel, for their ability to communicate effectively, explain diagnoses and treatment plans in detail, and offer comfort to worried pet owners. The reviewer appreciated Dr. Chang's willingness to speak in person, explain the care plan in detail, and his overall "amazing vibe," which instilled confidence during a highly stressful time. Similarly, the detailed account of a dog's eye injury highlights the thoroughness of Dr. Chang's examination, his clear explanations, and the comforting presence of both the doctor and technician Daniel. I had to take my dog last Saturday to emergency and the wait time was about maybe two hours or so, which is reasonable for Saturday night I have to take my dog because I noticed that his left eye he was squinting watery couldn’t keep his eye open, so I was very scared and earlier that day he did have a grooming appointment. And the front desk receptionist was really nice very helpful and the tech also was great, his name is Daniel and Dr. Chang was great. He was amazing. He explained everything on what could’ve happened and if it was a superficial cornea scratch or not that he was going to do the stein dye eye test and etc.. So after doing the dye test, his left eye did have his his cornea was scratched and Dr. Chang prescribed eye drops and just pretty much said you know he can heal from this. I thank God it was not an ulcer or any of that. He definitely comforted me and Daniel the tech was also very comforting. Their overall staff are very nice. I also went back for a follow up yesterday and Dr. Chang is the one who saw him again and once again great kind very caring and he also did another dye test on the same eye and thank God his eye is almost back to 100% recovery. I’m very thankful for this place and I give them five stars. They are amazing the staff last night was great too, and Daniel again was there and he was a tech and once again I’m very pleased with their service and the care that they showed me and my pet. I highly recommend this vet emergency clinic.

I was skeptical about this clinic with all the 1star and also don't really write reviews on stuff. But on Wednesday day before Thanksgiving I had to rush my dog Hercules into emergency and we had to put him down due to cancer. I can’t thank animal Am of Pasadena enough for the kindness and care they showed my dog and my family during such a heartbreaking moment. The staff was incredibly gentle and understanding, ensuring my dog’s last moments were peaceful and filled with love. They explained the process with such compassion, allowing us to say goodbye in the most meaningful way. I truly felt supported during one of the hardest days of my life.

My old dog was in his final days before the rainbow bridge. I called them not knowing the process or if I needed to make an appointment. They took my call and professionally and with care walked me through the process. When his final day came, I called in-advance so they were prepared for me and my dog. The vets carefully and with grace took in my dog and knew my wishes to be present explaining everything to me again and giving me time alone with him once everything is complete. They did ask me about the different remembrance options but I was prepared fir that since I called in advance. They sent me a condolence card which was very sweet of them. I previously went to ACCESS for an emergency and that was really high costs and I would not recommend. I would go to this clinic again for regular care or an emergency.

I had a family friend tell me about this place where she took her dogs. She told me she had her dogs cremated there. Well my sweet Rusty who I have had for almost 18 years had passed away unexpectedly. I was in a state of shock so my family friend told me to call them. When I called I told the receptionist my situation that my cat just had passed away and if it was possible to have her cremated with them, she told me absolutely. I told her my fiance would be bringing her. When he got there she already had the papers to fill out ready for him to sign. The price was affordable. They went above and beyond our expectations. Not only did I get her ashes in a beautiful wood box but it came with a plaque of my cats name on top. Also got a certificate when she was cremated from an outside agency they work with. And last not least seeds forget me not flowers to plant in her memory. Exactly 3 weeks later I got a letter from them saying condolences. Most definitely recommend them. Whenever my family and I decide to get an animal we will be coming here to get them help. Thank you so much!
