The vet and the vet tech (student) were very caring and thorough. They examined my dog on the floor, where he is more comfortable, which was great. Facilities were clean and modern. Pretty campus to boot.

Welcome to Angell at Essex
Angell at Essex, situated at 565 Maple St, Danvers, MA 01923, USA, operates as a veterinary facility serving the pet owners of Danvers, Massachusetts, and surrounding areas. As a component of a larger veterinary network, it aims to provide medical care for various animal companions. The facility is equipped to handle different aspects of pet health, from routine examinations to more complex diagnostic processes.
The physical environment of Angell at Essex is characterized by its modern and clean facilities. According to one customer review, the "Facilities were clean and modern," which contributes to a professional and hygienic setting for veterinary care. The location also appears to be part of a "pretty campus," suggesting a larger, well-maintained area that might offer a more pleasant experience for pet owners during visits. A notable feature of their approach to the environment is their willingness to accommodate individual pet needs, such as examining a dog "on the floor, where he is more comfortable," indicating a consideration for animal welfare and a flexible approach to patient handling. This tailored approach to the examination environment aims to reduce stress for pets, making the visit more comfortable for them. The building itself is presumably designed to facilitate various veterinary procedures and offer a professional atmosphere for the staff and clients.
As a veterinary care facility, Angell at Essex provides services typical of a pet hospital. While a comprehensive list of all services is not explicitly detailed in the provided information, general expectations for such a facility include medical diagnostics, treatment, and potentially surgical procedures. The reviews shed some light on the nature of services and the approach to care:
- Thorough Examinations: One positive review mentions that "The vet and the vet tech (student) were very caring and thorough." This suggests that initial examinations are conducted with attention to detail, which is crucial for accurate diagnosis.
- Caring Staff: The term "caring" is used to describe the vet and vet tech, indicating a compassionate approach to handling animals. This aspect is important for building trust with both pets and their owners.
- Diagnostic Testing: The mention of "blood tests" in a negative review implies that the facility performs various diagnostic tests to aid in identifying health conditions. However, the efficacy of these tests in reaching accurate diagnoses is a point of contention in at least one customer's experience.
- Treatment Protocols: Based on the attempt to diagnose and treat conditions like "DIABETES," it can be inferred that Angell at Essex offers treatment plans and manages chronic diseases, which is a standard offering for a pet hospital.
It is implied that the hospital provides a range of veterinary services that align with general practice standards for a pet hospital, focusing on the health and wellness of cats and dogs.
Customer experiences at Angell at Essex appear to be quite polarized, highlighting both positive aspects and significant concerns, particularly regarding diagnostic accuracy and client trust:
- Positive Aspects (Caring & Thoroughness): One reviewer had a positive experience, praising the vet and vet tech for being "very caring and thorough." The specific accommodation of examining the dog on the floor demonstrated a thoughtful approach to patient comfort. The "clean and modern" facilities and "pretty campus" also contributed to a favorable impression. This suggests that for some clients, the professional demeanor and accommodating practices create a satisfactory experience.
- Significant Concerns (Diagnostic Accuracy & Trust): Conversely, a highly critical review expresses profound "disgust" and "shame" due to a misdiagnosis. This client spent a significant amount of money ($4000) for what was diagnosed as "DIABETES," only to discover later that the cat had "CANCER the whole time." The failure to detect cancer despite "all those blood tests" led to strong accusations of incompetence and exploitation during a "most vulnerable moment." This review points to a severe breakdown in trust and satisfaction, raising questions about diagnostic protocols and communication in complex cases.
This stark contrast in feedback indicates that while some clients may experience compassionate and thorough care, others may face deeply dissatisfying outcomes, particularly concerning the accuracy and thoroughness of diagnostic processes for serious illnesses. The emotional impact on clients due to perceived diagnostic failures is a critical feature derived from the available information.
Angell at Essex can be contacted directly by phone at (978) 304-4648 or via mobile at +1 978-304-4648. As part of a larger network (Angell Animal Medical Center is a well-known institution), it likely benefits from brand recognition and a professional infrastructure. While specific promotional materials beyond the contact information are not detailed, the expectation would be that Angell at Essex aims to present itself as a competent and caring veterinary provider, drawing on its modern facilities and staff's professionalism. The phone numbers serve as the primary direct points of contact for scheduling appointments, inquiries, or seeking veterinary advice. The varying customer experiences, while providing insights into real-world interactions, also highlight the importance for potential clients to consider multiple sources of information when choosing a veterinary provider, especially given the significant emotional and financial investment involved in pet healthcare. The presence of both highly positive and extremely negative reviews emphasizes the need for individuals to weigh these diverse perspectives in their decision-making process for their pet's veterinary care.

Feb 06, 2025 · Laurinky zI wish I had seen these reviews before I took my cat. This is absolutely DISGUSTING that at our most vulnerable moments the love we have for our pets and you people do these kinds of things to people. I spent 4000 dollars on my cat for what you said was DIABETES and she had CANCER the whole time all those blood tests and it wasn't detected BULLSHIT! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and SHAME ON YOU. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED
