Can’t ask for a better veterinarians and staff. We have been going there for years with all my babies. They always go beyond and above to find answers. Unfortunately we had to put our one down that’s in the first pic today. The staff and Dr Rodkey and Dr Morgan were very sympathetic and made things go easier for us.

The facility is designed to provide a welcoming and functional environment for both pets and their owners. This commitment to accessibility ensures that all clients, regardless of mobility, can comfortably access the care their pets need. The general atmosphere aims to be calming and supportive, which is crucial for pets who may be anxious during vet visits and for owners during what can sometimes be stressful situations.

Altmeyer Veterinary Hospital offers a broad spectrum of services, catering to the diverse needs of both small and large animals. For small animal care, their offerings include routine wellness exams, which are fundamental to preventing health issues before they become severe. These exams typically involve a nose-to-tail assessment of your pet's overall body condition, eyes, ears, mouth, internal organs and systems, and skin. Vaccinations are also a core service, with individualized schedules developed based on a pet's age, breed, lifestyle, and environment. They provide both core and non-core vaccines for canines (such as leptospirosis, bordetella, parainfluenza, Lyme disease, and canine influenza) and felines (including feline leukemia).

A significant focus is placed on parasite prevention and control, understanding the various health concerns parasites can pose to pets and families. This includes thorough physical exams, fecal tests, and blood tests, even for pets on year-round prevention, to detect parasites early. Dental care is another critical service, with Altmeyer Veterinary Hospital addressing the prevalence of dental disease in pets. They offer oral exams, teeth cleanings, and extractions, emphasizing that proper dental care is vital for a pet's overall health and pain prevention. For younger animals, puppy and kitten care encompasses initial physical exams, vaccination schedules, diet discussions, and parasite prevention plans. As pets age, senior pet care is provided to address the specific needs of older animals, focusing on maintaining their comfort and dignity.

Beyond preventative and routine care, Altmeyer Veterinary Hospital provides surgical services, ranging from basic procedures like spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. While specific details on the range of complex surgeries are not extensively publicized, they are equipped to perform surgical procedures. Medical imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound, is available to aid in diagnosing various conditions, offering painless and non-invasive ways to evaluate organs and bones for a better understanding of a pet's internal health. They also offer therapeutic laser treatment, a non-invasive option for various conditions such as osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries, and chronic wounds, with improvements often seen over several treatments.

A distinctive feature of Altmeyer Veterinary Hospital is its provision of large animal veterinary services. They are equipped to treat a variety of large animals, including equines (horses), dairy and beef cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and llamas and alpacas. These services often involve on-farm visits for regular herd preventative care, sick animal exams and treatments, and routine services such as reproductive care, complete dental care, portable X-ray, ultrasound, laboratory services, internal medicine, elective and emergency surgery, deworming, vaccinations, lameness exams, and colic treatments. Large animal services are typically by appointment, with an answering service available for after-hours large animal urgent care.

Client testimonials consistently highlight the compassionate and dedicated nature of the staff and veterinarians. Customers frequently praise the team for going "beyond and above to find answers" and for their sympathetic approach, especially during difficult times like euthanasia. Reviews mention Dr. Rodkey and Dr. Morgan specifically, commending their understanding and support, which made challenging experiences easier for pet owners. The staff is described as "amazing" and truly caring about "what’s best for your pet," indicating a client-centric approach where the well-being of the animal is paramount. Furthermore, several reviews indicate that the hospital provides "quality care at an affordable price," which is a significant advantage for pet owners seeking excellent veterinary services without excessive financial burden. They accept pet insurance for unexpected accidents and illnesses, and information suggests they may also work with financing solutions like CareCredit and Scratchpay to help clients manage costs.

In terms of promotional information, Altmeyer Veterinary Hospital focuses on conveying its commitment to comprehensive and compassionate care. While there isn't extensive publicly available information on specific promotional campaigns or discounts, their presence on various platforms and positive customer reviews serve as strong endorsements of their services. The emphasis is on proactive pet health management through regular wellness check-ups, early detection of issues, and preventative care to ultimately help clients save on future vet bills by avoiding costly treatments. Dr. Rodkey and Dr. Morgan are the kindest, most compassionate people you will find. They saved our Nigerian Dwarf when no one else would take the emergency call. He would not have made it through the night without them. Your pets are in good hands at Altmeyer Veterinary Hospital. Thank you, Dr. Rodkey and Morgan!! Love, Marty!

Went in for an emergency visit with my bun who had stopped eating. The whole staff was amazing and both doctors were very thorough and took the time to explain everything to me and show me her xrays as well as what to do for care in the meantime while we wait to see the specialist. Wonderful people who took very good care of us.
