Dr. Nicki always takes great care of my senior dog, Sassy. I know she will get the best treatment here. The staff and assistants are also kind, caring, and helpful. Living in the south hills it can be a bit of a drive, but it is worth it for the care my dog receives!!

I could not have become a successful and knowledgeable Purebred Preservation Breeder of Collies if not for Dr. Gardner. She has always provided my Collies with the utmost quality of reproductive care.. I have great respect for her, her skills and how much she has taught me. Dr. Daugherty is an excellent, thorough and caring vet. My pets have received her care for about 23 years. She is very focused when examining my dogs, especially when listening to their hearts. She researches and provides information to me on whatever issue my dogs are experiencing. My dogs respond to her caring approach. Dr. Donna has been sharing her skills and extensive education with my dogs as I continue forward in my fifth decade as a Purebred Preservation Breeder. She has taught me a great deal for which I am grateful. In my opinion these three veterinarians would be considered world class." Apr 17, 2025 · Sheryl Ruffing JonesI rarely write reviews but if i can help someone else that’s all that matters to me. I’ve been coming here with my cat for close to 4 years now. I’ve loved this vet and always felt like my cat was being taken care of appropriately. However back in January i found a lump on her chest and immediately took her in. The female doctor tested it with a Needle and drained it and said the cells around it worried her and we were gonna remove it immediately the next month, which i was on board with. So i scheduled the surgery with a deposit. A month later i show up early in the morning for the surgery and since they “drained” the lump and it didn’t didn’t seem to come back right away the male doctor told me to hold off. The male doctor said his dog “lived 4 more years with the something like this and i shouldn’t worry about it, it would be a waste of money to do anything.” I asked several times if they could test it again or do SOMETHING because it wasn’t nothing. It’s a lump and anyone with a brain could figure that out. I had a weird feeling and begged them to do the surgery or test it since i was already there and worried. They wouldn’t. It was so urgent last visit but now they’re blowing it off? The cells were abnormal and worried her last time but now everything’s fine? That doesn’t just go away.. So i left with a gut feeling knowing i wouldn’t come back and something was off. The lump came back a week later. I immediately wanted a second opinion. I was referred to Crescent Ridge from some friends (100% recommend them) and they said we need to remove it immediately. So another month later she had her surgery and it turned out to be mammory cancer and she has about a year left. Crescent ridge did an amazing job with the surgery (they did bloodwork and appropriate procedures before the surgery that Allegheny vet did not. They do not do things right!) It was a blessing in disguise that she did not get the surgery done at Allegheny vet because i wouldn’t trust them with my life knowing what i know now. I’m writing this review because if i did not take her to go get a second opinion like they told me to not worry about, the cancer would have progressed worse than what it is now and i probably wouldn’t have extra time with her. We caught it in enough time to remove it and hopefully get a little more time with her. PLEASE if you care about your animals stay FAR away from this place!! They will cram medication down your animals throat without trying to fix the real problem and not even bat an eye. Don’t bother trying to defend this review because nothing you say can make up for the fact that this establishment and doctors absolutely suck and shouldn’t be in practice.
May 18, 2025 · Renee LizJust recently discovered AVA after wanting a second opinion. We were so impressed that we will now be switching our gang’s veterinary needs to AVA after thirty years at Avalon. The whole place is immaculate, the staff welcoming, kind and pleasant. We loved Dr. Nicki and her genuine concern for our pets.
Dec 10, 2024 · Shay BeAll the people at Allegheny Vet are so friendly and truly concerned about my fur babies. When I called about my sick doggie, they got me right in. Then called twice to follow up and see how he was doing. They also explain everything. They show as much care for my doggies as I do.
