However, based on the positive customer review, it appears they prioritize creating a comfortable and private space for sensitive situations. The review mentions being guided through the back directly into an exam room when dealing with the loss of a pet, suggesting a thoughtful approach to providing a quiet and immediate space for grieving owners and their animals during difficult times. This indicates a level of consideration for the emotional needs of pet owners alongside the medical needs of their pets.

- General Veterinary Care: The presence of Dr. Lisa A Macom DVM and other doctors suggests that Allegheny North Veterinary provides general medical care for pets, addressing illnesses and injuries.
- End-of-Life Care and Euthanasia: The deeply positive review highlights the compassionate and professional handling of a pet's passing. The detail of being taken directly to an exam room suggests a private and sensitive approach to this difficult process.

The sympathy card signed by the entire staff further exemplifies this caring approach.
- Professionalism of Doctors: The second review, despite its criticism of the front desk, explicitly praises the doctors as "very good and caring." This suggests that the veterinary medical expertise and the doctors' bedside manner are strong points of this practice.
- Attention to Detail and Concern: The positive review mentions an "amazing level of detail, concern, and love" shown by the staff, indicating a commitment to thorough and attentive care for both the pet and the owner.

Customer Feedback Analysis: The two customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on different aspects of Allegheny North Veterinary. The first review is exceptionally positive, focusing on the compassionate and professional handling of a very difficult situation – the loss of a pet. The level of care and empathy described, including the thoughtful gesture of a sympathy card, speaks volumes about the practice's commitment to supporting pet owners through all stages of their pet's life, including the very end.
However, the second review raises a significant concern regarding the professionalism and demeanor of the front desk staff. The reviewer describes being "snapped at" when asking about billing or policies and characterizes the front desk as "rude and uncaring." This negative feedback regarding the administrative and initial point of contact is a serious consideration for potential new clients. The reviewer explicitly advises new clients to seek care elsewhere due to this issue, despite acknowledging the competence and caring nature of the veterinarians.
Objective Summary: Allegheny North Veterinary, led by Lisa A Macom DVM, appears to be a veterinary practice that prioritizes compassionate care, particularly in sensitive situations like the loss of a pet. The veterinarians are praised for their skill and caring attitude. However, there is a significant concern raised in one of the reviews regarding the unprofessionalism and rudeness of the front desk staff, which could negatively impact the overall client experience, especially for new clients. Potential clients should weigh the positive feedback regarding the medical care and empathy against the negative feedback concerning the front office communication.
For local users in Pittsburgh seeking veterinary care, Allegheny North Veterinary presents a practice where the veterinarians are considered caring and competent, and where exceptional empathy is shown during difficult times such as the loss of a pet. However, prospective clients should be aware of the reported issues with the front desk staff's professionalism and consider this aspect when making their decision. It might be beneficial to contact the clinic directly to form your own impression of their administrative staff and to inquire about the full range of services they offer.

Jul 11, 2024 · Vincent GrubbThe front desk is very unprofessional. If you ask a question about billing or a policy, you will get snapped at by the front desk. They are rude and uncaring. If you are a new client, I suggest you go elsewhere before you establish a rapport with this company. On the contrary, the doctors who work there are very good and caring.
Jul 17, 2020 · Sandy GroveI always feel good about taking my cat here (despite the typical negative context of a vet visit.) They truly care about your animal(s). I won't take my little guy anywhere else in Pittsburgh (unless it is an absolute emergency.)
