Oct 27, 2022 · Selina BonomoI had an emergency last night at 10:30 pm with my one horse experiencing a colic episode. I called into the service and within 5 minutes Dr. Solomon had called me back. After the 2nd call i decided to have her come to my barn to be safe rather than sorry. They arrived sooner than I was advised which was amazing. This was my first time with Allegheny having transferred from my retired vet. I was very impressed with Dr. Solomon and Dr. Cassidy. Both women were very knowledgeable and efficient, and took time to address all my concerns. Dr. Solomon followed up with me this morning. I wanted to thank them both and am so pleased with this experience, even though a scary one for me, and look forward to their ongoing care. I highly recommend Allegheny Equine.
May 25, 2023 · Maria Michele MaiettoExcellent. It's a fine edge with being a Vet. They have to not only treat the horse but also educate and listen to the owners. Some owners just want a Vet to 'fix' a problem. Others, like me, not only want to fix the issue but understand how to prevent and/or rehabilitate. That takes time. Allegheny Equine makes the time. Another thing I truly appreciate is that their practice doesn't push testing, diagnostic testing if they don't feel its necessary. Sometimes an ultrasound is called for, sometimes it isn't. I'd prefer to reserve my cash for what is needed down the line and I appreciate the upfront honesty. Overall, a solid A.
Jan 14, 2022 · T LDTERRIBLE PRACTICE! We have tried this several times and finally give up! We had complained of incompetence in the past but now it is beyond that. They have no compassion for the animals they treat. They definitely look at the money first and the animal second. If this makes you uneasy about using them about using them it should! Just to clarify, I am the barn owner. We had been accepted as a client of yours when we had an emergency. We were told at that time and not before that we could not get emergency care. We were told at that point that we were out of your area. After a lot of wasted time we were told that if we walked a very I’ll horse to a neighbor’s that is actually farther away than we are that you would see this horse. To be even more clear, we had been accepted as a client with no conditions regarding emergency care. The horse died on her way to our neighbor’s house because you would not come to my barn after you accepted us as clients. THIS PRACTICE LACKS COMPASSION
