I've been taking my kitties here for years. This is a long overdue review. The staff is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a great veterinary clinic, this is the spot.

My kitty Grayson was just getting some updated vaccines and a check up, and the vet noticed his teeth were bad. I was able to get him scheduled for a cleaning and extraction within 2 months! The vet made sure to walk me through the process and explain the extractions. He is SO happy now. It's been a week now and he has been happier than ever! He was purring nonstop the first 3 days. I mean NONSTOP. Now you can just see he's in a lot less pain. He also cuddles more!! Thank you Alameda for taking care of my boy.

Worst communication and they will run tests, give shots or do a physical without your permission to get your bill as high as possible. The bill is always, always a shock. Im done with this place. These last 2 visits is a perfect example of how this business work and what you should expect. I called in ( my dogs been a regular for 2 years) I asked to get her tested to make sure she is on the right dosage of thyroid medicine. I asked if they could cut her nails as well. The receptionist booked the visit. Upon arriving we were told we cant run a test for thyroid because we were supposed to have given here a pill exactly 4 hours before. WHY weren't we told this when scheduling an appointment? No apologies from them of course. Then they charged us extra for nail clipping claiming they needed two people to hold her down (my dogs an angel and does not need 2 people ). We come back to the next appointment to again try and test for thyroid. We did successfully this time. But the vet also performed a full physical and gave two immunizations and charged us an additional $200 . We did not ask or approve any of this. One of the vaccines was to protect her against wild animals diseases and exposures. My senior dog doesn't go on hikes nor is ever even at a dog park. When we complained we did not authorize a full physical there was no apology.

I’m so grateful for the incredible care my cat received at [mAlameda Vet Clinic. After months of struggling with my cat’s health and visiting multiple clinics, I finally found a team that truly cared. Dr. Joy was incredibly compassionate and attentive. She took the time to listen to our concerns and thoroughly examined our cat. The ultrasound was incredibly helpful in diagnosing the underlying issue. Dr. Sofia was also fantastic, explaining everything clearly and patiently. The treatment plan they provided has been a lifesaver. Our cat is finally starting to feel better, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the care and expertise of the entire team at AVC. If you’re looking for a vet clinic that truly cares about your pet’s well-being, I highly recommend this place.

I've been going to this vet for a couple of years now and I absolutely love them I will not go anywhere else. My pets mean the world to me as I feel everyone can relate to and the people that work here really care about animals and it shows. Doctor Howard is so helpful, engaged and personable.
