Both of my dogs go here and see Dr. Scott! He is so kind and welcoming. He makes you feel very comfortable and is always gentle with my dogs! I hate when vets and doctors are rude and he’s the opposite! Great guy and great vet! Will continue coming here and it’s much cheaper than my last vet and the appointments are always so quick!

The staff strives to create a comfortable and friendly setting, understanding that veterinary visits can sometimes be a source of anxiety for pets. The focus is on providing a clean, efficient, and professional space where pets can receive the care they need with minimal stress. This dedication to a positive experience for animals is a key aspect of their approach to veterinary medicine.

Akron-Peninsula Veterinary Office offers a broad spectrum of services to cater to the diverse health needs of dogs and cats. These services encompass preventative health, diagnostics, medical treatments, and surgical procedures. For routine care, they provide essential wellness exams, tailored vaccination programs, and comprehensive parasite prevention and control. These foundational services are crucial for maintaining long-term pet health and proactively addressing potential issues. When it comes to diagnostics, the clinic is equipped with modern tools, including radiology (X-rays) and ultrasound capabilities, along with in-house laboratory services for prompt and accurate testing. This allows their veterinary team to quickly identify and understand health concerns, leading to more effective treatment plans.

The medical and surgical capabilities at Akron-Peninsula Veterinary Office are extensive. They manage a wide array of conditions, from common ailments to more complex medical cases. Surgical services include routine procedures such as spaying and neutering, as well as various soft tissue surgeries. For advanced diagnostic and emergency needs, the clinic partners with Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, which offers 24-hour emergency care, blood transfusions, endoscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Computed Tomography (CT) scans. This collaborative approach ensures that even the most critical and specialized cases receive the highest level of care. The office is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and health-related educational opportunities for their clients, striving for excellence in veterinary care for Akron and surrounding areas.

A significant feature of Akron-Peninsula Veterinary Office is the quality and demeanor of its veterinary staff, particularly highlighted by customer reviews. Dr. Scott, for instance, receives high praise: "Both of my dogs go here and see Dr. Scott! He is so kind and welcoming. He makes you feel very comfortable and is always gentle with my dogs! I hate when vets and doctors are rude and he’s the opposite! Great guy and great vet! Will continue coming here and it’s much cheaper than my last vet and the appointments are always so quick!" This feedback underscores the compassionate and patient approach that Dr. Scott takes with animals, making the veterinary experience less stressful for pets and their owners. Similarly, Dr. Jahnke is also highly regarded, with a client stating, "I'm giving this review a 5 based on the fact that Dr. Jahnke is wonderful." These testimonials reflect the dedication of the veterinary professionals to providing excellent care with a gentle touch.

However, it is also important to note feedback regarding the administrative aspect of the clinic. While the veterinarians receive consistent praise, there have been some concerns raised about front desk staff. One review mentions, "however Sarah at the front desk was extremely rude, and hung up on me after telling me, the customer, that I am not professional. It seems like there are a lot of bad reviews regarding the front desk staff. Shelly was wonderful after I called back." This indicates that while the medical care is exceptional, there may be inconsistencies in the client experience at the front desk. The clinic, like any business, would likely benefit from addressing such feedback to ensure a consistently positive experience from the first point of contact. The positive mention of "Shelly" suggests that the clinic does have staff members who excel in client interaction.

In terms of promotional information and client convenience, Akron-Peninsula Veterinary Office strives to make pet care accessible. They offer "Pet Portals," which allow clients to request medication or food refills even when the practice is closed, by logging into their pet's individual record page on the clinic's website. This digital convenience streamlines aspects of pet management for busy owners. Additionally, clients often find the appointment scheduling process to be quick and efficient, as noted in a review. While specific ongoing promotional discounts or packages are not detailed, it is a common practice for veterinary clinics to offer wellness plans, accept pet insurance, and provide treatment financing options like CareCredit and Scratchpay. These financial solutions help make veterinary care more affordable and manageable for pet owners, especially in cases of unexpected illnesses or accidents. Prospective clients are encouraged to contact the office directly to inquire about current promotions, wellness plans, or accepted payment options.

I'm giving this review a 5 based on the fact that Dr. Jahnke is wonderful. I don't want to take anything away from that, however Sarah at the front desk was extremely rude, and hung up on me after telling me, the customer, that I am not professional. It seems like there are a lot of bad reviews regarding the front desk staff. Shelly was wonderful after I called back. I would think they would do something to change that, since that is the first point of contact for existing patients, as well as new.

Was here for about 9 years. This all happened back in September but I was too angry to leave a review. Vets are good - receptionists are always incredibly rude and uncaring every time I called in. Friends and family reporting the same stuff. Last straw was when I called about my dog's punctured eye we were trying to save (I had been in the previous week about it). As always met with no sympathy, I had been to metro over the weekend and they recommended the eye be removed. I was told they couldn't fit that kind of surgery in for at least a month. My dog was in pain and his eye was actually perforated! Maybe if the vets knew, they'd have done something but I just said ok and called some other places. Veterinary Wellness Center in Green (who I had no history with) got him in that day and surgery the next. Switched and so much happier with service. Turns out you can have good vets and service at the same spot!
