I had a deeply disappointing experience at this emergency vet clinic when my pet needed urgent care. The lack of clear and consistent information was not only frustrating but also critical, as we were faced with the heartbreaking decision of whether to put our pet to sleep. The staff provided contradictory details, leaving us confused and unsupported during an already emotional time. When we asked questions to better understand our pet’s condition and treatment options, the responses were curt and dismissive, with staff showing outright rude behavior. The staff appeared sloppy and disorganized, and it was clear they were understaffed, which likely contributed to the chaotic experience. Despite this, the pricing was exorbitant—upon arrival, an assistant bluntly stated that costs would start at a minimum of $1000-$1500 just to begin treatment. When we asked what this covered, she admitted she had no idea, which eroded any confidence in their professionalism or transparency. This clinic’s lack of empathy, poor communication, and unjustifiable pricing made an already painful situation far worse. I strongly recommend seeking other emergency vet options that prioritize clear communication, compassionate care, and fair pricing. Our pets deserve better. Several vets in the area said they never refer anyone here for the very reasons I stated . Total bill $3,000( 3 day stay )

Welcome to After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA

Welcome to the introduction of After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA, a dedicated pet hospital located at 5505 W Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410, USA. As a crucial part of the local pet care ecosystem, this clinic operates as an emergency veterinary service, primarily catering to needs that arise outside of regular business hours. Understanding the importance of accessible and reliable healthcare for your beloved animal companions, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of this facility based on publicly available information, including direct feedback from pet owners.

As a "Pet Hospital," After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA focuses on providing immediate medical attention for pets facing urgent health issues. Unlike general veterinary practices that typically operate during standard daytime hours and offer routine check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care, emergency clinics like this one are equipped and staffed to handle critical situations that demand prompt intervention. This often includes accidents, sudden illnesses, acute injuries, and other life-threatening conditions that cannot wait for a regular veterinarian appointment.

Based on the available information, it's important to present a balanced perspective on the clinic. Reviews from pet owners offer valuable insights into the environment, services, and overall experience. One customer reported a deeply negative experience, highlighting concerns about a lack of clear and consistent information during a critical decision-making process regarding their pet's health. This review also mentioned curt and dismissive staff behavior, a seemingly disorganized and understaffed environment, and unexpectedly high initial cost estimates without clear explanations of what they covered. The reviewer strongly recommended seeking alternative emergency vet options due to these issues with communication, empathy, and pricing.

Conversely, another pet owner shared a positive experience when their young Shih Tzu presented with alarming symptoms. This customer praised the prompt attention upon arrival, the thorough diagnostic process (including a Parvo test, fecal analysis, blood panel, and x-rays), and the clear explanations provided by the veterinarian regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan. They specifically commended the vet technician and the front desk staff for their professionalism and kindness. The cost of the services, including medications and procedures, was deemed reasonable by this reviewer for an after-hours emergency situation. Furthermore, they appreciated the follow-up communication with their regular veterinarian, facilitated by After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA. This positive feedback suggests that some pet owners have found the clinic to provide competent and caring emergency services.

Considering these contrasting experiences, it's challenging to paint a definitive picture of the clinic's environment and services. The negative review points to potential issues with communication clarity, staff demeanor, organizational efficiency, and cost transparency, which are critical aspects of quality veterinary care, especially during stressful emergency situations. The mention of other local vets allegedly not referring patients to this clinic further underscores these concerns.

On the other hand, the positive review indicates that the clinic is capable of providing timely and effective emergency care, supported by a friendly and professional team, at least in some instances. The detailed diagnostic work-up, clear explanations, and follow-up with the primary veterinarian are all positive indicators of a commitment to patient care.

Given the available information, potential local users should be aware of these varying experiences. When faced with a pet emergency outside of regular hours, After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA is an option to consider in Greensboro, NC. They can be reached by phone at (336) 851-1990 or mobile phone at +1 336-851-1990, and their physical address is 5505 W Friendly Ave. In emergency situations, immediate action is often necessary, but it may be prudent to inquire about the initial consultation fees and the estimated costs for potential treatments and diagnostic procedures. Clear communication with the staff regarding your pet's condition and the proposed plan is essential. If possible, and if time permits in a non-critical situation, exploring other available emergency veterinary services in the area might also be a worthwhile consideration to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in the care your pet receives.

It is important to note that online reviews represent individual experiences and may not reflect the entirety of the services provided by After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA. Factors such as the specific medical situation, the staffing on duty at the time of the visit, and individual expectations can influence a pet owner's perception of the care received. Therefore, while these reviews offer valuable insights, they should be considered as part of a broader understanding of the clinic.

As a Pet Hospital specializing in after-hours emergencies, the clinic's primary feature is its availability when regular veterinary offices are closed. This accessibility is crucial for pets experiencing sudden health crises. The positive review suggests that they are equipped to handle a range of diagnostic procedures, including Parvo testing, fecal analysis, blood panels, and x-rays, and can provide treatments such as injectable medications and subcutaneous fluids. The fact that they also facilitate communication with the pet's regular veterinarian indicates an understanding of the importance of continuity of care.

However, the negative review raises concerns about the consistency of their service delivery, particularly in terms of communication, transparency regarding costs, and the overall support provided to distressed pet owners. Potential users may want to be prepared to ask detailed questions about the proposed treatments, associated costs, and the qualifications of the staff involved in their pet's care.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available online for After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA. As an emergency service, their primary value proposition is their availability during critical times. For local users in Greensboro, NC, knowing the location and contact information of such a facility is itself a crucial piece of information for pet owners who may face an after-hours emergency.

In conclusion, After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic, PA serves as an emergency pet hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, providing care outside of regular veterinary hours. While some customers have reported positive experiences with their diagnostic capabilities, treatment, and staff professionalism, others have raised significant concerns regarding communication, cost transparency, and the overall level of support and empathy provided. Local users should be aware of these varying perspectives and consider them when making decisions about their pet's emergency care needs. Direct communication with the clinic to understand their procedures and costs in a specific situation is always recommended.

I called this emergency vet on a Saturday night when my 1y 4mo old Shih Tzu had been vomiting bile and had an alarming amount of bloody diarrhea. He was also not eating or drinking water and was extremely lethargic. (Needless to say, I was PANICKED) I explained the situation on the phone and they told me to bring him in, but that we should not let him near others or let him on the floor due to the potential for Parvo. I was too panicked when we rushed off to have sense enough to bring his vaccination records. (He has been vaccinated) When we got there, they took us into an exam room immediately. (Probably due to potential parvo) They tested him for parvo first. (Negative) When he tested Negative, they told us to diagnose him they wanted to do a fecal analysis, blood panel, and x-rays. We said yes to all. They took him back and we waited for around 3 hours. There were several others in the waiting area. We were not upset about waiting because we recognized they have several animals in need of emergency care. His blood panel was normal besides mild dehydration. (Vomiting/diarrhea, so this was not surprising.) His x-ray had a little shadow in his stomach which could have been fluff out of a squeaky toy or a little bit of food, and he had elevated bacteria in his fecal analysis. So, essentially doggie food poisoning. (Most likely he ate "kitty treats" he found outside from the neighborhood strays.) Our vet technician was very nice and professional. The staff at the desk were also wonderful. The Vet who saw him talked us through what was going on and explained the medication he needed and answered all our questions. This was a top notch experience for something terrible my poor little guy was going through. Our vet technician came back after the Vet left and went over the medication for him a second time and provided a printout. Our records were sent to our regular vet, who called me this morning (monday) to verify Mr. Boogers was OK and follow up about his health. (Shout out to Blue Flint Animal hospital! They're a wonderful veterinary clinic!) For anyone wondering about cost, he had a test for parvo, fecal analysis, blood panel and x-rays. He got an anti nausea shot at the clinic and subcutaneous fluids administered. He went home with 3 different medications. Our bill was $996 dollars. In my opinion, this is reasonable for a 3rd shift vet and all the things necessary for him. In short, should something horrible happen during non business hours, I will bring my pets here.

Took my beloved Archie in last night for an emergency at 1am. Staff couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. Called them and they told us to come even though we lived a hour away. They were waiting for us when we pulled up. They kept me calm and took such good care of my boy. I am so grateful to them and the staff. 💗

I will never bring any of my pets here ever again. I arrived at 8:00pm and asked the receptionist approximately how long the wait would be for my pet who had been hit by a vehicle & she said she couldn’t tell me the time but that I should go ahead and put my information down and someone would call me shortly. MIND YOU, they didn’t take my ID or anything. TWO hours later I go and ask her how much longer it would be and she says she can’t find my name and only took my ID and said she would go let the Dr. know we had been waiting for a long time. When we arrived there were about 4 families in-front of us, which I understand. But after two hours and 6 more families coming in we were SKIPPED and my partner went and spoke to the receptionist again FOUR hours later and they said I wrote down she only had a scratch on her nose!!! I go back up there when I hear this and told them that was not what I told them and they kept shaking their heads as if I was lying. We were obviously upset and told them this was ridiculous and they dismissed us and said we didn’t get skipped that they worked on worse cases first. Well excuse me, I guess my pet that was hit by a vehicle isn’t an emergency. At 12:00AM they call us to the back exam room only to say “we don’t have X-rays here, we will just give you pain meds for your pet”. Please don't come to this place, I don’t know how they’re getting away with these services. Needless to say we walked out and will be taking our pet elsewhere .

I'd never heard of this place before tragedy struck and my cat unexpectedly passed away. We were directed to call here, and while there was sadly nothing anyone could've done, I learned of this vet's cremation services and, with the help of a dear friend, I decided to let them to handle the issue. From start to finish, they were better than I could've expected. Their staff was so kind, helpful, and understanding while the office itself was basically immaculate. They handled everything with a professional care I greatly appreciated during a time of immense grief. If I ever heal from my loss well enough to adopt another animal, I would love to make After Hours Vet their primary care provider.
