I’ve brought two of my dogs to this vet clinic and haven’t really had any issues. I brought in my first dog for a second opinion on some chronic health conditions he has. I still mostly take him to his primary vet for his follow ups. My second dog is a puppy and I’ve been taking him here for his puppy vaccinations. Overall I’d say my experience was good. Every question I had was answered by the vet techs, receptionist and on staff vet. The time I did meet with the vet, it didn’t seem like it was the main vet Dr. Trujillo. But either way, I was well taken care of. On the occasions when I’ve taken my puppy for vaccinations, the vet techs took care of my animals. The receptionist has always been polite when I ask for my dog’s medical records. The only time I feel like there was potentially a mistake was when they told me my adult dog was due for vaccinations though I had just gotten them for him. But I keep my own copies of my dogs medical records. I see a lot of negative reviews here for this place, but I haven’t encountered anything too bad (hopefully never). I’d recommend keeping your own vet records at home and to bring them in a folder whenever bringing in your pets. It’s saved me a lot of headache in the past with other vets. The pricing is better here than other vets and they have flexible hours.

After Hours Animal Hospital Introduce

Welcome to After Hours Animal Hospital, located at 11266 Firestone Blvd in Norwalk, California. As a pet owner in the local community, you understand the importance of accessible veterinary care, especially when health concerns arise outside of typical business hours. After Hours Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary services with the added convenience of flexible scheduling. You can reach them at (562) 409-1011 or their mobile number +1 562-409-1011 to inquire about their services and operating hours for your pet's health needs.

Operating under the category of "Pet Hospital," After Hours Animal Hospital likely offers a range of veterinary medical services to address various health concerns in pets. The name itself suggests a focus on providing care beyond standard daytime hours, which can be a significant benefit for pet owners with busy schedules or when unexpected health issues occur outside of their primary veterinarian's availability. While specific details about the clinic's environment are not extensively described online, it is reasonable to assume a standard veterinary clinic setting equipped for examinations, treatments, and potentially minor procedures. The emphasis on "after hours" service implies a commitment to being available when other clinics might be closed.

The available customer reviews present a mixed perspective on After Hours Animal Hospital. One pet owner shared a generally positive experience, having brought two dogs to the clinic. They sought a second opinion for a dog with chronic health conditions and utilized the clinic for puppy vaccinations for another pet. This reviewer noted that their questions were answered by the vet techs, receptionist, and the on-staff veterinarian. While they mentioned not always seeing the main vet, Dr. Trujillo, they felt well taken care of overall. They also appreciated the polite service of the receptionist when requesting medical records. This positive feedback suggests that the clinic has knowledgeable staff and provides a satisfactory level of care for routine services and consultations.

However, the same reviewer also mentioned a potential error regarding vaccination due dates, highlighting the importance of pet owners keeping their own records. This underscores the need for diligent record-keeping and proactive communication with any veterinary service provider.

Another point mentioned in the positive part of this review was that the pricing at After Hours Animal Hospital was better compared to other veterinarians, and they offer flexible hours. These are significant potential benefits for pet owners seeking affordable and accessible care.

In contrast, another review presents a serious concern, alleging that the clinic took advantage of a senior citizen's pet. This review describes a situation where a dog brought in for a routine allergy injection was taken to the back and returned with bleeding ears, followed by a charge of over $300 for an unexpected ear cleaning. The reviewer further claims that the clinic was unresponsive to the neighbor's attempts to address the issue and that a manager named Robert was rude and unhelpful when the reviewer intervened. This negative feedback raises significant concerns about the clinic's transparency, communication, and potentially the standard of care in certain situations. It is crucial for potential clients to be aware of such allegations when considering this clinic.

Considering the available information, the services offered at After Hours Animal Hospital likely include:

  • General Veterinary Medical Care: Including consultations, examinations, and treatment for various pet health issues.
  • Vaccinations: As mentioned in one of the positive reviews for puppy vaccinations.
  • Second Opinions: The clinic was utilized for a second opinion on a chronic condition.
  • Flexible Hours: A key feature, suggesting availability outside of typical daytime veterinary clinic hours.
  • Potential for Other Services: The negative review mentions an ear cleaning procedure, indicating that the clinic may offer a broader range of services beyond basic check-ups and vaccinations. However, the circumstances surrounding this particular service are concerning.

Features that may characterize After Hours Animal Hospital, based on the customer reviews, include:

  • Flexible Operating Hours: Catering to pet owners who need veterinary care outside of regular hours.
  • Potentially Lower Pricing: One reviewer noted that the prices were better than other vets.
  • Knowledgeable Staff: The vet techs, receptionist, and on-staff vet were able to answer questions for one reviewer.

However, it is equally important to acknowledge the serious concerns raised in one of the reviews:

  • Allegations of Taking Advantage of Senior Citizens: A concerning accusation regarding unexpected and costly procedures.
  • Poor Communication and Customer Service: Allegations of cutting off a client on the phone and rude behavior from a manager.
  • Potential for Unexpected Procedures: The incident with the ear cleaning raises questions about transparency and consent for treatments performed in the back without the owner present.

Promotional information for After Hours Animal Hospital is not explicitly available in the provided text. Given the mixed nature of the reviews, it would be particularly important for potential clients to inquire directly about their service fees, policies regarding examinations and treatments performed out of the owner's sight, and their procedures for addressing client concerns. Asking about any current promotions or discounts might also be beneficial, but transparency and trust should be paramount when choosing a veterinary care provider.

In conclusion, After Hours Animal Hospital in Norwalk, CA, offers the potential benefit of flexible operating hours and possibly more affordable pricing. Some pet owners have reported positive experiences with the staff and the care provided, particularly for routine services like vaccinations and consultations. However, the serious allegations in another review regarding the treatment of a senior citizen's pet and the reported poor customer service cannot be ignored. Local users should carefully consider all available feedback and exercise caution when deciding whether to entrust their pets to this clinic. It is strongly recommended to ask detailed questions about their procedures, especially regarding treatments performed away from the owner, and to ensure clear communication and transparency in all interactions. Keeping thorough personal records of your pet's health history is also advisable, regardless of the veterinary provider you choose.

BEWARE! taking advantage of senior citizens, and be careful when they are treating your pets taking them to the back. My senior neighbors doggie went in for a usual injection for allergies and they took her in the back and came out with bleeding ears. They felt she needed ear cleaning and charged her 300+ dollars. She tried calling back to let them know and they just cut her off the phone. I spoke up on her behalf after she explained what happened to her doggie and there’s a very rude “ manager” named Robert who has no clue on customer service or how to treat clients. Rude and disrespectful. And he calls himself a manager. I am a huge animal lover and so please be careful with this clinic!!!

Trujillo will lie to you he said my dog cancer was spreading it really brought me down mentally... i took him to another vet got xrays there is no signs of cancer i brought several dogs/cats here my list is endless but will not be returning here. here are some photos with no cancer His solution was to either amputate his leg or to put him to sleep. Do not bring your pets to this place, very unprofessional staff. The Indian guy vet if you can even call him that didn’t take the time to examine my dog he had the audacity to asked me if i could open my dogs mouth so he can checked his teeth, I though that was his job? He acted like if he was afraid to get bitten, my dog is a senior dog and very relax. The guy told me my dog had an infection and gave me antibiotics and tried to sell me 5 cans of dog food, turns out my dog had cancer. I give this place a zero start if i could.
