Disappointing service. Apparently the word on the street is they've changed ownership and management, so I guess that tracks. Just came in for a nail trim and physical today. Waited for AN HOUR. Other appointments scheduled at the same time as me were waiting the same amount of time, just they had managed to get a room. Front desk staff used to be friendly and communicative, but now they offer generic answers to questions like "we're waiting for a room." The nurse with the lip liner...and I hate to use that as her defining feature...but she needs serious training in customer service. Talk about an inattentive and dismissive character in the field of animal healthcare. One nurse was more professional and proactive with seeking out answers for me, but by the time I was done with this nurse at the desk, I wanted out asap. I've rescheduled my appointment for Monday; I've been told there will be two doctors on site. An hour wait is absurd even for a busy small location. This isn't M*A*S*H or The Pitt. This was my go-to place, as I moved to Glendale 3 years ago. It was, as it was named, affordable! Apparently this name is changing soon...telling. Back then, I was talked into a lung panel for a newly adopted cat with kennel cough, which wound up showing nothing but I'm glad I did it at the time. The staff was friendly, considerate, communicative, and fast! This was my first visit in a while, annual physical, and I'm extremely disappointed with the change in quality of service. Maybe they were so busy because their staff was ACTIVELY INTERVIEWING NEW HIRES DURING BUSINESS HOURS. I'm sorry, if you have simultaneous bookings all throughout the day, you interview new employees before or after business hours. Embarrassing to see the change in quality of care. I will likely be seeking a new vet.

Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock Introduce
Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock, situated at 4000 Eagle Rock Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90065, USA, falls under the "Pet Hospital" category, aiming to provide accessible and general veterinary care to the local community. For inquiries, they can be reached at (323) 794-0566 or +1 323-794-0566. It's important to note that recent customer feedback indicates the hospital has undergone significant changes in ownership and management, which has impacted client experiences.
The perception of the environment and atmosphere at Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock appears to be in a state of flux, largely influenced by the reported change in ownership and management. Previously, the hospital was known for being, as its name suggests, affordable, and was characterized by a friendly, considerate, communicative, and fast staff. This suggests a positive and efficient atmosphere where pets and owners felt welcomed and well-cared for.
However, more recent reviews indicate a shift. Clients now report significant wait times, sometimes an hour or more, even for scheduled appointments like a simple nail trim and physical. The front desk staff, once friendly and communicative, are now described as offering "generic answers" and a lack of proactive communication. There are specific concerns about professionalism and attentiveness from some staff members, with one review highlighting an "inattentive and dismissive character." This suggests a decline in the warmth and efficiency that previously defined the clinic's atmosphere. The observation of staff actively interviewing new hires during business hours also points to potential understaffing or organizational issues contributing to the increased wait times and perceived dip in service quality. While one recent review still rates them highly for friendliness, concern, and efficiency, making friends with a shy indoor cat and putting him at ease, this stands in contrast to the overall sentiment of decline. This mixed feedback suggests that while some individual interactions may still be positive, the overall client experience has become inconsistent due to internal changes.
While the specific, exhaustive list of services offered by Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock isn't detailed in the provided information, its classification as a "Pet Hospital" and the nature of the reviews imply a general practice veterinary clinic that provides a range of common services for pets, likely dogs and cats. Based on typical offerings of such clinics and the customer reviews, these services would generally include:
Wellness Exams and Physicals: Routine check-ups are a fundamental service, as indicated by a client visiting for an "annual physical." These exams are crucial for preventive care and early detection of health issues.
Vaccinations: As a general practice, vaccinations to protect pets from common diseases would undoubtedly be a core offering.
Nail Trims: A simple yet essential grooming and health maintenance service, directly mentioned in a review.
Diagnostic Testing: The mention of a "lung panel for a newly adopted cat with kennel cough" suggests that the hospital offers various diagnostic tests, including blood work or other analyses, to investigate and diagnose pet health conditions.
Treatment for Common Ailments: Given they are a general practice, they would treat common pet illnesses and minor injuries, such as kennel cough mentioned in a review.
Prescription Medications and Advice: Like most vet hospitals, they would dispense necessary medications and provide advice on pet care.
As a general practice, more advanced services like complex surgeries or specialized treatments might be available, or pets might be referred to specialists if required. However, the provided information does not detail such offerings.
Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock's features and strengths appear to be evolving due to the recent changes.
Affordability: As its name implies, the hospital was previously known for being "affordable," making quality veterinary care accessible to a broader range of pet owners.
Efficient and Friendly Staff: Reviews from the earlier period consistently praised the staff for being friendly, considerate, communicative, and fast, leading to a positive client experience.
Proactive Care: The instance of recommending a lung panel for a cat with kennel cough, even if it showed nothing, suggests a proactive approach to diagnostics and ensuring thorough care.
Potential for Good Individual Experiences: Despite overall dissatisfaction reported by some, one recent review still speaks of a "10 stars out of 5" experience, highlighting friendly, concerned, and efficient staff who made friends with their cat. This suggests that positive interactions are still possible, perhaps depending on the specific staff members encountered.
Commitment to Pet Well-being: The positive review emphasizes the staff's main concerns were "what's best for my feline pal and making sure my questions were answered," indicating a foundational commitment to animal welfare.
Transitioning Team: The fact that they are "actively interviewing new hires during business hours" indicates efforts to rebuild or expand their team, which could eventually lead to improved service quality and reduced wait times.
Long Wait Times: A significant current challenge is the "absurd" waiting periods, even for scheduled appointments, which causes considerable client frustration.
Decline in Staff Communication and Professionalism: The shift from friendly and communicative staff to those offering generic answers or appearing dismissive points to a need for improved customer service training and internal communication.
Perceived Dip in Quality of Service: The overall sentiment among recent dissatisfied customers is a noticeable decline in the quality of care and service, leading some to seek new veterinary providers.
Given the reported changes, specific promotional information from Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock is not explicitly detailed. However, general veterinary clinics often engage in the following types of promotions:
Affordable Pricing: Historically, the clinic's name itself served as a primary promotional message, emphasizing its cost-effectiveness. While recent reviews suggest this might be changing with new ownership, the legacy of affordability may still attract some clients. The review mentions the name might be changing soon, which could impact this perception.
New Client Offers: It is common for veterinary practices to offer introductory discounts on first exams or services to attract new pet owners. This would be a common promotional strategy for a clinic under new management seeking to build its client base.
Wellness Packages: Many vet clinics offer comprehensive wellness plans that bundle essential preventive care services at a discounted rate. There is no specific information about this for Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock, but it is a standard practice in the industry.
Seasonal Promotions: Clinics often run seasonal promotions for services like dental cleanings, vaccinations, or parasite prevention during specific times of the year. Clients would need to directly inquire with the hospital for any such ongoing offers.
The current narrative surrounding Affordable Animal Hospital: Eagle Rock suggests it is in a period of transition. While it previously held a strong reputation for affordable and efficient care, recent customer experiences highlight challenges related to wait times and staff professionalism. Prospective clients should consider contacting the hospital directly to inquire about their current services, operational procedures, and any ongoing efforts to address client feedback and improve the overall experience.

Apr 04, 2025 · Ian McBrideAbsolutely 10 stars out of 5 (maybe even 15), and a strong "Yes!" recommendation from me! Everyone at AAH-ER was friendly, concerned, and efficient. Their main concerns were what's best for my feline pal and making sure my questions were answered. I'd been worried about how my lifelong-indoor cat would react to the new place and new people, but the staff quickly made friends with him and put him at ease. AAH-ER is on my speed-dial for any and all future vet needs.
Mar 31, 2025 · Nancy GillanI’ve been bringing my deer head chihuahua for a few years now. All the staff are pleasant, professional, caring and understanding. Prices are better than certain other vet clinics. I rather pay for the quality of care that my pet receives. My chihuahua is comfortable and calm when I bring her in. I think she actually likes coming to visit.🙂
Apr 29, 2025 · Michelle PerezTook my cats here for about a year. The doctor and front desk people are very nice. But I feel like they maybe overcharging and asking for tests that are not needed. I took my cat back in January to get checked Dr. Said he was healthy $800 charge. Then fast forward it's March and one night my cat won't stop vomiting. We take him back they say they have to run all tests again and it will be over $1,000. Luckily we found another vet that is actually affordable and kept my cat over night. Now he is doing better. This new vet gave reasonable diagnostic xrays and blood work over night IV and medication it was only $500. Also gave us a piece of mind and he had time and I felt put in all efforts to help us.
Mar 08, 2025 · B LAfter the Eaton fire my dog had ear issues. She is high anxiety and a barker. The Dr and staff at this hospital were so patient with her and myself that I was very thankful. They took the time to allow her to calm and I really appreciated that not only were they concerned for her but me as well. I highly recommend this vet hospital, they are awesome!
