Advent Veterinary Services (Dr. Vivian Ramos - Dr. Thomas Kilbane)

Today was my first time to this clinic. The staff, vet techs, and vets were amazing! They checked on me while I was waiting, offered me something to drink, chatted for a while to pass some time. They took great care of my two sugar gliders for their first check up. All around a great experience. They gave me as much information as they could and answered every question I had! If you’re considering taking your animals here, definitely make an appointment. They take regular pets and exotics as well and are very knowledgeable about all species. This is a fantastic establishment!

We’re new to Advent, but so far it’s been a great experience. We have one dog of our own and we’re rehabbing a family member’s dog after she endured a catastrophic break to her femur. We’ve only been patients there since early January and have already had many experiences with them including: last-minute work-in appointments for a UTI, surgery incision check, fentanyl patch removal, dental procedure requiring general anesthesia, x-rays, bloodwork, and more. One time, they squeezed us in for a quick appointment and ended up staying after they closed because the dog required some testing and more discussion. The entire staff has been kind, helpful, and understanding. They do a wonderful job of explaining what’s going on, what the costs will be, and it’s evident they care about not only helping your pets but helping you have a good experience. We switched based on recommendations from friends and so far are very happy with the decision.

Can't help but be disappointed in the service I received. I called because my dog has been suffering with terrible ears infections and a cough but I guess they will only focus on one thing at a time. Honestly, what a racket. So after about 30-40 minutes of time in the office and a little over $500 my dog's cough is so bad that I wonder how well she is breathing. The steroid they gave her is causing panting (which adds to the cough)and incontinence. So she's still suffering! Also the fact that I only saw the doctor for a couple of minutes, never got to ask her any direct questions because she wasn't in the room. And they "didn't allot time to examine the cough". Idk but I'm definitely not happy.

I have been going to Advent since the beginning of the year for my two rabbits, as they have to be seen by an exotic vet. Dr. Kilbane is fabulous and takes his time with both rabbits as they can sometimes be spooked easily in unfamiliar places. I adopted the rabbits and called and made appointments shortly after and they both caught two minor health issues that weren’t caught when I first adopted them. One of my rabbits had to get oral surgery to help with teeth that were growing too quickly and into the side of her mouth. She had to be sedated and sent home with medication and Dr. Kilbane called me on a Sunday when the business is closed and checked on how her recovery was going. I am so impressed and truly appreciate a doctor who cares about his patients. Prices are also very reasonable for check ups and any procedures for an exotic. Evansville is so lucky to have him! I had to add a photo of my bunnies who I soon hope to be bonded, I appreciate I have somewhere to go where I won’t worry about the care they receive.

After leaving my appointment and review, I was contacted by the office and invited to come back the following day. At that appointment, I was served quickly, thanked for my willingness to give them another chance and informed that the staff was short a veterinarian at the time. I have been here with different pets a couple times since my 3 star experience and am very happy I have stayed with this vet office. They are always willing to answer your questions. Previous review: Service here used to be very good. For the last 2 years, I have had to wait over an hour for my pets to be seen almost every time I visit. Today, I waited for an hour and left. They do not provide updates on what is going on or how much longer it will be. In January, I visited with my dog and had to return later in the day due to the delay. I understand emergencies and delays happen, but when its this frequent, you would think they would start scheduling lighter on appointments, knowing they get a lot of emergency visits. I have to leave work early or go in late to make time for my pets appointments, and I dont have the time to wait for hours or wonder if we will be seen at all.
