Welcome to Adrian Animal Clinic
Welcome to Adrian Animal Clinic, a Pet Hospital located at 1898 W Maumee St, Adrian, MI 49221, USA. Adrian Animal Clinic serves the local community by providing a range of veterinary services for pets. Based on available information, the clinic offers both medical and grooming services, catering to a variety of animal needs in the Adrian area.
Details regarding the specific environment of Adrian Animal Clinic are not extensively described online. However, as a functioning Pet Hospital, it would typically include examination rooms for veterinary consultations, treatment areas for administering medications and performing minor procedures, and potentially surgical facilities depending on the scope of their services. Cleanliness and adherence to veterinary standards of hygiene would be expected in such a facility to ensure the health and safety of all animal patients. The presence of grooming services also suggests dedicated areas equipped for bathing, brushing, and styling pets.
Adrian Animal Clinic appears to offer a range of services, as indicated by customer reviews. One notable feature is their provision of care for exotic pets, as highlighted by a reviewer who was "Glad to have an exotic Vet to take care of" their "grandkids 3 bunny rabbits." This suggests that the veterinary staff at Adrian Animal Clinic possess expertise in treating animals beyond the typical cat and dog population, which can be a valuable asset for owners of less common pets in the Adrian area.
In addition to veterinary medical services, Adrian Animal Clinic also offers grooming services. A customer initially gave a 5-star rating based on positive experiences with the "grooming staff and front desk," indicating that these aspects of the clinic were well-regarded. Pet grooming encompasses a variety of services aimed at maintaining a pet's hygiene and appearance, such as bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and coat styling. The presence of a dedicated grooming service within the Pet Hospital can be convenient for pet owners seeking both health and aesthetic care for their animals in one location.
However, it is important to consider all feedback to provide an objective overview. A more critical review detailed an experience involving a kitten with a suspected upper respiratory infection. The reviewer mentioned a $62 visit fee and described the veterinarian as "very cold, not warm or compassionate at all." The reviewer also expressed concerns about the veterinarian's recommendation for euthanasia of a kitten testing positive for feline leukemia, without offering alternative options for palliative care or discussing the possibility of false positives in very sick cats, a point later supported by multiple individuals involved in cat rescue.
This review also raised significant concerns about the handling of another client's dog by the front desk staff, describing an incident where a scared dog was allegedly "grabbed...by the harness and dragged...across the floor." Such an incident, if accurately reported, would be a serious concern regarding the clinic's animal handling practices and the well-being of their patients. The reviewer's disappointment extended to their decision not to use Adrian Animal Clinic for grooming services in the future due to this negative veterinary experience.
The clinic's initial response to the positive review about exotic pet care indicated a willingness to engage with customer feedback, stating they would have someone contact the reviewer regarding their experience. However, an update from the same reviewer noted a lack of follow-through after two weeks, suggesting a potential disconnect between their public response and actual customer service actions in this instance.
Based on the available reviews, Adrian Animal Clinic offers services including veterinary care for both common and exotic pets, as well as grooming. While some customers have had positive experiences with the grooming staff and appreciate the availability of an exotic vet, other experiences indicate potential concerns regarding the compassion of some veterinary staff, the thoroughness of information provided to clients, and the handling of animals by certain staff members. It is crucial for potential clients to consider these varying perspectives when making decisions about their pet's care.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Adrian Animal Clinic based on the provided text. Pet Hospitals may occasionally offer promotions on services such as vaccinations, dental care, or wellness packages. To inquire about any current specials or to discuss your pet's specific needs and the clinic's approach to care, it is advisable to contact Adrian Animal Clinic directly at (517) 265-8975 or +1 517-265-8975. Direct communication will allow you to gather the most up-to-date information and assess if their services and approach align with your expectations for your pet's healthcare.
In conclusion, Adrian Animal Clinic in Adrian, MI, functions as a Pet Hospital offering a range of services, including veterinary care for common and exotic pets, as well as grooming. While some aspects of the clinic, such as the grooming staff and availability of an exotic vet, have been positively mentioned, other reviews raise concerns about the compassion of some veterinary staff and animal handling practices. Potential clients are encouraged to consider all available feedback and contact the clinic directly to determine if it meets their needs for comprehensive and compassionate pet care.

Mar 28, 2025 · Karen Simonian**Update, the vet responded to this review and said they'd have someone contact me regarding my experience however after two weeks I've still yet to hear from a staff member. I guess it just looks good for them to let comment readers think they'd like to make right by the experience and negative review, but it doesn't go very far when there's zero follow through. Initially I gave 5 stars because the grooming staff and front desk was great, however I dropped my rating down to a generous 2 stars after my visit this morning. A kitten showed up in our driveway this morning that clearly had a severe URI so we brought it to the vet. $62 just for the visit itself which I feel is on the steeper side. Aside from that, the vet we saw was very cold, not warm or compassionate at all. Isn't that her job?? Not ours. We're just two strangers paying a couple hundred dollars on a kitten that just showed up, trying to do the right thing when we have our own pets to already care for. She pretty much said the kitten probably has leukemia and to euthanize her and antibiotics won't work. We had her tested and although she tested positive for leukemia, she suggested euthanasia rather than offer any kind of options to keep her comfortable for as long as possible. Yes I understand that feline leukemia is not curable, they can still live a fairly comfortable life for several months or even a couple of years. Not many people know this, and they rely on their vet to provide them this information that they went to school for to be educated on. I will not be returning here for vet services, and unfortunately it's also made me decide not to use them for their grooming services going forward as well. While we were waiting to checkout, this older woman came in with her heavier set and very scared Doxie x Beagle and the woman asked the front desk for help getting her dog through the threshold of the vet office and the staff grabbed this poor dog by the harness and dragged her across the floor. This is NOT how you handle or treat ANY animal. Between the vet being very cold and seeming to not care at all about this cat that we brought in, but the way the front desk handled someone else's dog without hesitation really makes me question them. If they handle them like this out in the public eye then i worry about how they handle these animals behind closed doors. Educate your customers/patients on diseases and options they have, and treat ALL animals with care, compassion and respect, or don't be a vet or work at a vets office. Thank God I wasn't there that day having to get a pet euthanized or they would have somehow made the experience so much worse. We got the antibiotics anyway even though the vet told us there's really no point. But we'll at least try and do the best we can for her with the time she has and if she needs a follow-up, we'll be sticking with our regular vet Companion in Tecumseh. The ONLY reason we didn't go there for this kitten was because they didn't have any openings until later in the day. I also want to add that not one but three (and then four after speaking with my regular vet) people who are heavily involved in cat rescue and foster, had said that it's common for very sick cats to test a false positive and they should be retested AFTER taking antibiotics and it's been at least 6 weeks before testing again. I brought this up to the tech and she looked at me like this was the dumbest thing she'd ever heard. She said she never heard of that. Just a simple Google search says otherwise, as well as other reputable sources. Again, this is information that the vet should know of and educate people like me on.
Nov 30, 2024 · K FDr. Ketz is kind, gentle, professional and really LISTENS to worried Pet Parents. I and the Patient, my 3 year old Siamese/Bengal mix kitty, Saoirse, appreciate how gentle and patient Dr. Ketz is with Saoirse who is TERRIFIED of car rides, unknown places/people and being examined. Dr. Ketz is so comforting to my baby Saoirse and takes time to give her the best care!! I highly recommend Adrian Animal Clinic.
Apr 09, 2025 · Dawn FowlerI’m not someone who usually complains, but I felt it was important to share my experience with Adrian Animal Clinic’s grooming services. I took my dog in for grooming, and when I got home, I noticed that one of his nails had been trimmed too short and was actively bleeding. I was never informed of this at pickup, nor was I given any instructions on how to care for it or watch for infection. That was extremely frustrating because I would have liked to address it immediately. I understand that accidents happen, and I wasn’t upset about the nail itself—I was upset that I wasn’t told. When I called to ask about it, I was brushed off and told that “it happens all the time,” as if that excused the lack of communication. Additionally, my dog had a skin infection from flea irritation that was diagnosed at the appointment. What makes this even more frustrating is that my husband had taken him to this same clinic a few months ago for itchy, flaky skin that he wouldn’t stop scratching. At the time, they said all they could do was give him a steroid shot—but they never mentioned fleas. Because of that, I didn’t even think to check for fleas, and I had no reason to believe they were a problem. Had I known, I would have expected a shorter cut—but I wasn’t informed until after the fact that his rear and private area had been completely shaved down to the skin. A heads-up before making that decision would have been appreciated, and the grooming itself was very uneven. What frustrated me the most was not the mistakes themselves but the way they were handled. Rather than taking responsibility, I was met with excuses and subtle blame-shifting, as if I was unreasonable for being concerned. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect honesty, professionalism, and basic communication—especially when it comes to my pet’s care. Unfortunately, that was missing in this experience, and I won’t be returning.
Feb 13, 2025 · Alyssa LetsonThe doctor that looked at my cat was very respectful to her. My cat does not like men, but she did not scratch, she didn't cry, she didn't fight, she was as respectful to him as he was to her.
