Jan 02, 2023 · Vicki KuhnWhere do I even begin! We have been going to Addison Animal Hospital for 10+ years. They have always been amazing. When the tornado hit Lombard on August 10, 2020 we lost power immediately as we had telephone poles uprooted on our property. I called first thing the next morning to see if we could board our dogs (who absolutely love it there). When I spoke with Margaret, I advised what happened to my property and I did not know how long the dogs would have to be there. Margaret did NOT hesitate and said absolutely and I could bring them in at any point. I was there in about an hour. Marta greeted the girls and they were so happy to see her. Marta re-emphasized the girls would be taken care of and just keep them posted on the progress. Every couple days I would call to see how my girls were doing (and making sure they were behaving) and state I had no update when I could bring them home. Of course when I dropped them off one dog became sick (she is a senior dog and the stress of everything made her sick). The staff took immediate care of her and of course treated her like the princess she thinks she is!! Fast forward 3 weeks (YES 3 weeks) I was finally able to bring the girls home. They brought them out one at a time so they each got a few minutes to themselves with me after 3 weeks. The young girl who absolutely LOVES Cindy even gave her a kiss good bye! No one wants to board their fur-babies for any amount of time let alone 3 weeks. I knew my babies would be taken care of and loved as the ENTIRE staff loves my animals like they are their own. I cannot thank you all (Margaret, Jorge, Marta, Cindy, Luke, Jill, Dr. Stocks, and everyone else) for caring for my babies last minute in addition to all the stress with COVID-19!!! You are the BEST and I have no idea what we would have done without you!!!
Sep 14, 2020 · Christina KoukosMy family and I had taken our 15 year old dog, that has been seen by this clinic for years for checkups and a surgery, for euthanasia today. The staff had us pay almost $500 upfront before seeing the vet, we had waited in hour in the room, and the vet told us she was not going to preform the procedure and she rarely suggests them unless she believes the dog has no other options. The vet we had seen told us that she was uncomfortable preforming euthanasia on our dog due to the fact that she believes our dog was fine and could live another year if we try more allergy medications, bloodwork, or test for any infections. We asked why prolong another miserable year for our dog? The vet had spoken down to myself and my brothers, we had advocated for what we had thought was best for our childhood dog at this time, and our concerns were not just ignored, but met with disinterest and we were told to get the tests or see someone else. This dog is 15, constantly falling over, cannot control her bladder, and is covered in lumps. She is in pain. Also why would the office not preform the initial exam and then collect payment before the euthanasia is preformed because of instances like this? Now I’m waiting on a refund and my dog is more stressed from the exam that was a waste of time. I would never consider taking another animal here after the treatment my family and our baby had received. We did receive a second opinion and they had stated that our dog had a heart murmur and a very low heart rate after Addison had told us her heart was fine, along with a many other chronic conditions that the Addison vet denied and the only option other than euthanasia was truly comfort care. Please stay away. This office does not listen or value your concerns and think adding more bloodwork is the only acceptable option of treatment.
