My dog has had 3 surgeries at Access and she’s received the absolute best care. The hospital is unbelievably clean, front desk staff is really nice and helpful which is hard to find anymore. Dr. Carey has done all 3 surgeries and she explains everything so you can actually understand. All after care and meds are really explained well and the paperwork they send you home with is easy to follow. They also handle all my pets insurance claims for me which is really helpful since as a pet parent we’re already concerned for our pet without having to deal with insurance. I am grateful for this hospital.

I have taken my dogs to other vets, like VEG, and ACCESS is the best vet in Los Angeles, hands down! I could not recommend enough. My girl, Ruby, needed emergency care and I am so happy I went to ACCESS. They took excellent care of Ruby and were so kind. They very communicative and transparent, and were always willing to answer any questions I had. They sincerely cared about Ruby. I am so grateful to ACCESS! Thank you so much!

Absolutely outstanding work from all employees at this hospital, especially in the aviary department. Took in my bird for an emergency within the same minute I arrived. I have been at this hospital a few times over the past 2 years and their work saved my birds life and I can’t thank them enough. Pricing for an emergency stay at this hospital is well priced and I’m sure the employees take excellent care of every animal that enters through their doors.

If you are ok with one way communication and the inability to directly contact the vet or care team for your pet, then this is the place for you. If you get an email from this facility, DO NOT EXPECT to be able to response to it. They only allow communication to go one way & not HELPFUL AT ALL!!! If you get text from this facility, DO NOT EXPECT to be able to response to it. They only allow communication to go one way. This is the most inane and ineffective way to communicate for pet owners and also the care team. We use to love this facility, but clearly policies and costs have changed radically and making as much money possible has become the clear agenda of the owners. It's taxing for the care team and incredibly stressful for the pet parents. I will NOT be recommending this facility moving forward, as I have done countless times in the past. The inefficient control issues of the admin team are extremely damaging and useless! They do have some very good and talented doctors and caring staff (NOT SO MUCH W/ ADMIN) but it's preposterous to put them in this required poor communication situation!! It's become an increasing tragic issue to see the front line of staff become more and more unhappy with working there. One person even shared with me on how the facility refused to help his pet with a slight discount and was told to "just put it down". THAT IS HEARTLESS AND GREEDY and we already have tooooooo much of that going on in this country. This facility has also made it an extremely challenging to get good care based off of their rates and poor communication protocol.

I gave this hospital a call for an estimate, (my rabbit had what looked like a broken arm that was diagnosed to just be a swollen arm by another hospital that offers emergency care for rabbits) the estimate that I was given by Access was to hospitalize my rabbit with them and was told that itself would cost 1k-2k just for that and I wasn't given much details over the phone what they would do during his hospitalization. The other option that they gave me is that I could bring my rabbit in so they could give him injections for pain but wasn't given an estimate for that since I would need to come in so they could check his vitals first. After seeing so many 1 star reviews and reading most of the reviews about the experiences other owners have had with the quality of care this hospital provides for rabbits and other exotic animals, I've decided that this wasn't the best place for my rabbit. It didn't help when I read that some reviews mention that this hospital does price gouging for their offered services when it comes to treating their exotic patients. When you pay a lot for a service, you expect to get the quality you paid for but that doesn't seem to be the case with Access based on the reviews I've read and not only that, its understandable that medical emergencies for your pet will always be more expensive than a regular wellness exam but this place is definitely price gouging. I considered taking my rabbit to Access since it was a 15 minute ride but decided not to because I had a feeling my rabbit wasn't going to get the quality care he needed. I'm glad I took the 50 minute ride to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital, they have much better reviews and my rabbit did not need to be hospitalized with them. They had a doctor ready to see my rabbit immediately and I only paid $570 which included the medical waste fee, vet consultation, 3 x-rays, and pain medication to go home with. If you have a rabbit I would definitely recommend not to come here based on reviews and the price gouging this hospital does. Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital knows what they're doing and I recommend them even though they are far from my area, they know how to actually work with rabbits, I did not have to leave my rabbit overnight with the team at Irvine Valley Vet like how Access wanted to do if I brought my rabbit to Access and not only that, Irvine Valley Vet charged me $570 instead when Access wanted to charge me $1k-2k which was the amount Access wanted to charge me for just the hospitalization itself.
