I've brought 2 of my dogs here for last minute, urgent visits. First visit back in 2017 for my Anatolian Shepherd that was 75lbs at 8months old. The vet and vet tech were amazing with her. Amelia figured out very quickly that she had pano, a large breed puppy growing pains type issue. Thankfully nothing serious. 2nd visit was the day before Thanksgiving 2024. I had originally scheduled my Anatolian to come in for an enlarged lymph gland, but quickly realized that morning that my Golden needed to be seen more urgently. Got my Golden seen that day and realized she had Pyrometra which is extremely dangerous and fatal if not treated quickly. The vet did her surgery on December 1st and saved her life! Her uterus was extremely large, thankfully hadn't burst yet. This vet knows what she is doing! Listen to her advice. Make sure you have good pet insurance (mine is PETS Best) and a high limit credit card for these types of emergencies. I spent almost $4,000 here for everything including surgery, but it didn't matter because my dog is still alive! I told them what I wanted done and they did those things only. I never got pressured or forced into more work than was necessary. I appreciate this vet so much and would highly recommend her and would bring my dogs here again if needed. đđ¶đ

Dec 18, 2024 · Heather BDr. American and her staff are awesome. They saved my baby's life ( dog). I will be forever grateful to these wonderful people. Thank you for your caring and kind hearts.
May 14, 2025 · Susan ThackerThe appointment started with the vet interrupting me and then giving me a long explanation of how the heart and eyes work. Which is fine except I would have preferred more time talking about the causes/ solutions to my dog's issues. Then she wanted me to order a bunch of expensive tests for my dog. When I said that I didn't need to know all of the details of my dog's health, I just wanted to talk about end of life care, she told me that we have the technology to run all of these tests so we should use them. My previous vet was able to diagnose my dog with heart failure and the stage based on his symptoms/ heart sound. This vet refused to do any sort of assessment without the expensive tests. On top of that, she didn't even help me resolve all of my dog's symptoms. When we finally agreed on a medication plan for a couple of his issues, it was explained that it should last 3 months, after i checked out they told me only 1 month. Then, when i asked for a refund, i was told that they only give store credit. They eventually gave me a refund when i explained that i was given incorrect information but it was still so frustrating. I felt like i wasn't listened to and that they didn't care about my dog unless i was willing to spend 1k on tests and treatments. I was crying at the end of my appointment and will never go back.
Feb 06, 2025 · Bree ParkerThe care for my cat was definitely satisfactory, they were in and out quickly, offering help, and advice on next steps as well as getting her updated immunizations. The main issue I had with this vet clinic is the admin work and customer service over the phone. I usually go to a fantastic clinic near me with great customer service and an attitude of getting you the help you need with a relatively neutral to positive attitude even when you arenât asking for it. I feel that in comparison with this emergency trip that I had to make with A Small Animal Hospital the phone etiquette and admin side of things was just not very good. I was met with irritation for asking if an email I was waiting for since last week was perhaps sent to the wrong email- It was- and was told that I got a paper copy to which I replied, âYes I did, but I also requested another copy the day of the visit be sent to my email as well for insurance.â I totally understand accidents like that are normal and was not upset at all, just didnât feel that the irritation at me for asking was reasonable. After the lady on the phone sat in silence for what felt like a good minute or two, she mumbled something about talking to the vet, and then I was told that I was relieved of the phone call and they would send the email to me. After 4-5hrs and still no email I called back. The owner answered the call and she was somewhat more polite and sent the email right there while we were on the phone, which I am grateful for. However, she did make excuses for why it wasnât sent and told me that technically they did already send it(to the wrong address) and the law only requires that they make sure itâs sent within 2 weeks. She also said that she wasnât trying to be rude, but maybe I was the one with bad handwriting and the admin couldnât read it to put it in the computer correctly and also that they are understaffed today. I didnât ask for any of this information I simply just called to check in on the email with no extra grief or demands or comments as to why they arenât being quick about it. Either it was just a rough day/week or this is how they function as a business, Iâm not entirely sure, I just know what my one experience was like.
Jan 27, 2025 · jaimie hernandez03/01/2025 This morning our little mini bully (honey) 1 1/2 years old, got her 2 middle right toe nails stuck in the door and they literally ripped off. She was yelping, blood was everywhere, so we made an appointment at 9:40am right away here. They were aware that the pup was bleeding before we arrived. Check in took 20 minutes, and we didnât get our little baby in until 10:20am, and she was still bleeding. The nurses didnât even offer us a bandage to help the bleeding or nothing. Finally the nurse comes in and instantly starts talking about how her breed is unstable, and âshreddersâ. She looked at my puppyâs paw for 1 minute, and left. The assistant nurse came back with a quote of $600 plus dollars, with stuff that we did not need or ask for. I just wanted my puppyâs paw sanatized cleaned and looked at. None of this happened. We left an hour and 30 plus minutes later with medication, and a $256 dollar bill. My puppyâs nails were still bleeding, we had to rush to Walmart to grab stuff to stop the bleeding, and do everything ourselves. The nurses and doctors here did not care whatâs so ever about the blood or condition of my pup. They just kept talking, and talking, and talking some more. Then bill you at the end and you have to do everything yourself. 4 hours later we got the blood to stop, I had to do all the cleaning, calming, and sanitizing, and our baby was finally calm. I wouldnât recommend this place to anyone the nurses do not care, they just want your money. Never ever will I go back to this place for my fur babies. There is no professionalism, or compassion for your baby here. Makes me truly sad, and upset.
