Dr. Alexa Boulton is excellent. She is the definition of professional, and her integrity (in my 38yrs of experience having dogs) is unmatched. I don't have children, so my dogs are like my kids. When they are in Dr. Boultons care I am at ease, which is really saying something. Her staff is also very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Definitely 5 stars, I will never go anywhere else.

Dr Boulton dropped the ball and I was charged, not one, but two rechecks for a problem that should have been handled in April. They called in the wrong prescription and never owned up to it. Then, when I questioned a test, they insulted me. That's when I knew it was time to find a new vet. Response to owner's reply: That's what I would say too. I never swore, or yelled or threatened anyone, for Pete's Sake. And maybe if you spent less time putting out fires on Google, and more time writing the correct prescription, you'd still have 3 more patients.

Everytime I call to make an appointment I'm told to go to the emergency hospital in Traverse City or Bay City. I called because my cat was throwing up for a few days and was told to go to the emergency vet. I said I just want an appt for next week, since it wasn't an emergency and the bonehead on the phone wouldn't give me an appt. This place doesn't understand what it means to be a small town vet. Only in it for the money. Stay away.

I have found a gem here. Dr. Burke and her staff are hand picked by God himself. The love, care and devotion to my girl Shay is genuine. She feels the love. Thank you all ❤️

We used this vet for our dog for 12 years. Yesterday, I called to ask why we were not given a courtesy call or appointment nudge to have our dog in for blood work (something they never informed us was necessary!) before they cancelled or withheld his Rx pain medication. We were driving and using speaker phone, and the older woman, Rachel, and Amber accused me of yelling at them simply because I was asking WHY no one thought they should call us before withholding a 14 YEAR OLD DOG'S DAILY PAIN MEDICATION. It devolved into Amber interrupting me repeatedly as I tried to ask the question they kept dodging, while goading me the entire time with accusations that I was yelling at them. I did not demean anyone or call anyone a name and I certainly wasn't yelling. We were DRIVING, as we'd explained. Amber began to berate me and argue that it's not their job to notify patients when their vet office chooses to put a hold on a medication. So your office's policy changes, which affect your pet patients' care, isn't your responsibility to relay to your patients? This isn't a doggy daycare. Withholding a senior dog's pain medication without a heads up is bull. I didn't cuss Amber or Rachel out the way I should have. Both are rude, uncaring people who honestly have no business working with the general public. All we were asking for was COMMUNICATION AND AN APOLOGY FOR THEM DROPPING THE BALL. *** If you read the negative reviews, nearly all of them mention RACHEL BEING INCREDIBLY RUDE. TAKE NOTE. This could've been resolved with them simply saying, "Ya know, we are so sorry that happened. We should have called when we opted to withhold his medication this time to give you a heads-up. Unfortunately, we have to do blood work before he can get his medication going forward." Instead, they denied ever opting to withhold it, then admitted they did, and then were furious when we asked why we weren't notified beforehand. No accountability. Do not take your dog or cat to this vet office if you expect them to care even a little bit about their quality of life. UPDATE : What do you know?! This vet office FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO SEND APPOINTMENT REMINDERS, AFTER ALL THE B.S. IT HAS ALSO COME TO LIGHT THAT THEY WERE SO INEPT THEY HAD THE WRONG DOG'S INFORMATION JOTTED DOWN IN OUR DOG'S FILE! SO THEY DENIED MY SENIOR DOG HIS Rx BASED ON THEIR POOR DOCUMENTATION! It's also worth noting this vet's office attempted to besmirch us to the new vets, claiming we called them and yelled at them. Strangest misunderstanding I've ever experienced with the worst, most unprofessional vet office I've encountered as well.

So refreshing to bring my animals in, and not walk out feeling like I’m a horrible pet owner, or have my dogs react horribly to the treatment given. For once in their beautiful dog lives, NO REACTION to the vet and staff. They handled my big boys amazingly.
